What is Wireless Networking?

Wireless networking allows devices to connect to a network without cables, using radio waves.

Example:
• Mobile phone on Wi-Fi
• Laptop in a classroom
• Smart TV at home

What is Wi-Fi?
• Wi-Fi is a wireless networking technology
• Based on IEEE 802.11 standards

What is an IP Address?
An IP address is like a home address for devices on a network.
It helps devices find and communicate with each other.

🔹 Without an IP address, devices cannot communicate on a network.
🔹 Every device must have a unique IP address.

Basic Networking Devices
Let’s understand the most common networking devices used in CCNA:

🔹 Router
Connects different networks and directs data traffic.

🔹 Switch
Connects devices (PCs, printers) within the same network.

🔹 Hub
A basic device that sends data to all connected devices.

🔹 Access Point
Provides wireless (Wi-Fi) access to the network.
