Join us for a fun, inclusive English book club for kids ages 6–12. All levels welcome! The session is beginner-friendly and fully differentiated for different ages and abilities, so every child can participate and shine.

🗣 You are NOT a test score.

I have never been a proponent of standardized testing - not as a student, and most definitely not as a teacher.

A timed, high-stakes exam favors "do you know how to take a test?" over true comprehension 🤔 The fact is that anxiety, home environment, language barriers, and mental health can all affect scores, without reflecting actual knowledge.

As an and educator, I strongly prefer student portfolios, project-based learning (PBL), and presentations - These are much more accurate and holistic.

The first Different Minds Learn meeting was a 💯 success! 💪 Three AWESOME participants and I got to read, discuss, draw, do cool activities, and share our thoughts about . My favorite part was when we thought of our own precepts, wrote them out, and decorated posters of them 😍 Hope to see you at the next meeting in late June! 📚📝 📖 💙

I’m particularly grateful this to the past teachers I’ve known who saw potential in me, who challenged me, and who played a role in inspiring me to become a teacher 👩‍🏫 I know there is no finish line when it comes to 🚫🏁 There are plenty of bumps in the road, setbacks, and emotional roller coasters 🎢 … but I also know I couldn’t imagine myself doing anything else. 😌 🍎 💜

📚 ENGLISH BOOK CLUB FOR KIDS — OLIVOS, ZONA NORTE

Are you looking for a fun, supportive way for your child to practice English? Come join a small, welcoming book club meeting organized by Lauren, founder of Different Minds Learn!

Designed for kids ages 8–13 with an English level of approximately A2 or above, we’ll be reading a short passage from the leveled Penguin Reader edition of R.J. Palacio’s beloved book Wonder, discussing it together in English, and doing a couple of creative, hands-on activities inspired by the story. Kids will have plenty of opportunities to speak, interact, and have fun - all in English! 🌟

This is an inclusive event - additional support and differentiation are built into the session, so children with learning differences, neurodivergent learners, and anyone who simply finds reading challenging are warmly welcomed. Everyone will be able to participate and get something meaningful out of the experience.

Upon registration and payment, families will receive a PDF of the reading material with clearly marked sections to print and bring to the meeting. No other materials needed!

Parents are welcome to drop off their child or stay quietly during the session.

¿Buscás una forma divertida y acompañada de que tu hijo/a practique inglés? ¡Sumate a este pequeño y cálido encuentro de club de lectura organizado por Lauren, fundadora de Different Minds Learn!

Pensado para chico/as de 8 a 13 años con un nivel de inglés de aproximadamente A2 en adelante, vamos a leer un fragmento del lector nivelado de Penguin del libro Wonder de R.J. Palacio, a charlar sobre la historia íntegramente en inglés, y a hacer un par de actividades creativas y manuales relacionadas con el texto. ¡Los chicos van a tener muchísimas oportunidades de hablar, interactuar y divertirse - todo en inglés! 🌟

Este es un encuentro inclusivo - la sesión incluye apoyo adicional y diferenciación, por lo que los chico/as con dificultades de aprendizaje, estudiantes neurodivergentes y cualquier niño/a que simplemente tenga dificultades con la lectura son bienvenidos. Todos van a poder participar y llevarse algo valioso de la experiencia.
