Happy 7th Birthday to the Village 🥳🍰

To the children, families and educators, thank you for making the Village so much more than a childcare centre. The love, friendships and sense of community you’ve created are what make this place so special.

Here is to many more beautiful years 💙💚💜💛🧡

Yesterday, our lovely Creators proudly hosted a special cake sale in support of the Foundation while also raising funds to track a Blue Whale as part of our Ocean Life Project 🐋🌟

Together, our children and educators spent time baking a delicious selection of homemade treats to share with our families.

A heartfelt thank you to every family who stopped by and donated. Your generosity means so much to us and helps make experiences like these possible. Most importantly, your support continues to strengthen the beautiful sense of connection that makes our Village such a special place 🥰🩷

Exploring colour, creativity and fine motor skills 🌈✂️

Today the children used sticky tape, scissors and markers to design, create and problem-solve. Through hands-on exploration, they strengthened their hand control, coordination and confidence while bringing their ideas to life.
Moments like these show how learning unfolds through play.

It was such a pleasure to welcome and his wonderful insects, bugs, and snails into our little Village.

The tiny world beneath our feet has long captured the imagination of the children here in Brookvale, and today they were treated to a truly magical encounter. Having the opportunity to see these beautiful creatures up close was something truly special, with plenty of tiny details to discover and admire.

As the saying goes, “Wonder grows when we take the time to notice the little things.” Today, those little things had six legs, shiny shells, and plenty of personality 🐌💚🌿

The exploration of light, colour, and shadow in 3-dimensional sculpture.

The children began to explore that their sculptures could transform the environment, manipulating light and shadow as part of their design.

The sculptures themselves became a form of symbolic expression, representing ideas, experimenting with form and communicating meaning through materials.

🐞🕷️🦂Insect Week is a huge hit!🦂🕷️🐞

Children at the Village loved every single moment of our bug-filled adventure! From scorpions to spiders, millipedes to slugs, beetles to cockroaches—every creature sparked curiosity, excitement, and endless wonder.

Hands-on exploration, brave discoveries, and lots of smiles made this a truly unforgettable experience. Nature is the best classroom! 🌿✨

Thanks so much to for the fantastic experience!

Wind tubes invite a particular kind of play in which children experience science phenomena. They try something, watch what happens, make a change, and try again.

The magic lies not in arriving at the “right” answer, but in the cycle of wondering, testing, noticing, and refining. Rather than being shown an outcome and having it explained to them, children follow the phenomenon itself, uncovering its secrets one experiment at a time. The wind becomes a playful teacher, carrying ideas, questions, and discoveries as children explore, compare, adapt, and create their own understanding of how things work.

Have you ever heard of the “third teacher”? 🌿✨

In early childhood education, we often say there are three teachers: the child, the educator… and the environment.

The spaces we create every day are not just beautiful… they are intentional.

A thoughtfully designed environment invites curiosity, encourages independence, inspires creativity, and supports meaningful learning. Open-ended resources, natural materials, cosy reading corners, art invitations, and accessible shelves all send children a powerful message:

“This space was created for you. You belong here. You are capable.” ❤️

When children can freely choose materials, explore at their own pace, and feel calm and secure in their surroundings, learning happens naturally through play, discovery, and relationships.

At the Village, we carefully prepare our environment every single day because we know that every corner has the potential to spark a conversation, inspire a new idea, or build a new skill.

The environment doesn’t simply hold the learning…
It becomes part of the learning. 🌱
