Mabo Day 2026 ππ€ππ€οΈπ€πβ€οΈ
Today, we honour the legacy of Eddie Koiki Mabo and recognise the significance of the Mabo Decision β a landmark moment in Australia's history that challenged the legal fiction of terra nullius and recognised the enduring connection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to Country.
More than a court decision, Mabo was a moment of truth, recognition and justice.
It reminds us of the courage required to challenge the status quo, the persistence needed to create meaningful change, and the power of people coming together around a shared vision for a better future.
More than 30 years later, the lessons of Mabo remain as relevant as ever.
As we continue our journey towards reconciliation, may we all be inspired by the courage to stand for what is right, the commitment to keep moving forward, and the willingness to walk alongside one another with respect and understanding.
Today, we remember and honour Eddie Koiki Mabo, his family, fellow plaintiffs and all those who contributed to one of the most significant moments in Australian history.

The Mabo Decision stands as a powerful reminder that meaningful change rarely happens through the efforts of one person alone.
As we reflect on Eddie Koiki Mabo's legacy and this year's National Reconciliation Week theme, All In, we're reminded of the importance of relationships, collaboration and shared responsibility.
We've shared our reflections in the latest Mura blog.

Today marks the beginning of National Reconciliation Week 2026.
This yearβs theme, All In, calls on all Australians to actively participate in reconciliation β not as bystanders, but through meaningful action, conversations and relationships.
At Mura, we believe reconciliation starts with listening, learning and building genuine connections grounded in respect and cultural integrity.
This week is an opportunity to reflect on our shared histories, celebrate the strength of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and continue walking forward together.
Weβre proud to stand All In for reconciliation π€πβ€οΈππ€ππ€

Reconciliation starts with relationships.
Not just during National Reconciliation Week - but in the everyday moments where we choose to listen, learn, connect and walk alongside one another.
The 2026 NRW theme, All In, reminds us that reconciliation is everyoneβs responsibility. Real change happens when relationships are built on respect, trust, truth-telling and shared understanding.
As we lead into National Reconciliation Week, we encourage everyone to reflect on the relationships they build within workplaces, communities and across cultures because meaningful reconciliation starts there.
At Mura, we believe stronger relationships create stronger communities π€πβ€οΈππ€ππ€
