National Simultaneous Storytime 2026 Jersey Competition Winners
To mark ALIA's National Simultaneous Storytime 2026, some students took on the challenge of designing a football jersey inspired by Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller, written by authors Adam Jackson and Adrian Lloyd.
The standard of entries was impressive! So much so that instead of giving out five book prizes, Mrs Fischer gave out eight! Students thought carefully about colour, design and what it means to represent a team, bringing real creativity and intention to their work.
Congratulations to Lexi B (KL), Arelia K (1H), Arthur M (2J), Michael B (3S), Jadon S (4/5M), Amy W (5/6C), Harrison D (5/6C), and Ariella K (2-6F). You are ever so talented!

We were truly honoured to welcome celebrated Kamilaroi author, illustrator, musician and educator Gregg Dreise as our visiting guest author. Gregg is an ambassador for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, whose stories carry profound messages of kindness, self-image, friendship, cultural pride and moral courage.
Our Kindergarten to Year 2 students and Years 3 to 6 students each enjoyed dedicated sessions tailored to their stage of learning. With humour, Gregg brought his book, Greedy Frog, to life through the power of call-and-response, movement and music. Beyond the session, some classes had the opportunity to explore a garden Story Walk of Gregg's most popular book, Silly Birds.
