Who Is Amitabha Buddha? | Pure Land Buddhism

In this video, Shifu Shengchi explains who Amitabha Buddha is, the principal Buddha of the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss (Sukhāvatī).

Drawing upon the Amitabha Sutra and the Infinite Life Sutra, we explore Amitabha Buddha’s origins and how, in His previous life as the monk Dharmākara, He made 48 Great Vows to establish the Pure Land as a path of liberation for all sentient beings.
