In 1969, Dr Buscaglia facilitated his first course on Love at the University of Southern California. The event that prompted his desire to educate others on love was the loss of one of his students to su***de.

A critic of 'teaching' and the rigidity of an education system that aimed to make everybody like everybody else, Leo saw himself as a facilitator of learning instead of a teacher.
