🌿 Our New Nature Based Play Space is Now Open! 🌿
The newly refurbished and landscaped slope at the western end of our school oval is now open and our children are already thoroughly enjoying the space!
This project was designed with two key goals in mind: reducing erosion caused by water runoff and creating an engaging outdoor area where our students can participate in imaginative play. We are confident you will agree the result is a far more appealing and natural environment than alternatives such as limestone terraces.
A special feature of the space is the addition of a Yarning Circle, providing a wonderful opportunity for staff to use the area as an outdoor learning environment from time to time.
We look forward to this continuing to be a much-loved space for our students during the school day and at OSHC. 🌱✨

🌟 Year 4 La Salle Experience Day 🌟
On Thursday, 28th May, our Year 4 students from St Anthony’s joined with students from St Brigid’s to take part in the exciting Year 4 La Salle Experience Day! Despite the less-than-ideal weather, there were plenty of smiles as everyone arrived bright and early, ready for a day full of fun and new experiences at La Salle College.
The day began with a warm welcome in the John Smith Gymnasium, where students were introduced to the activities ahead. With a fantastic range of sessions—including Science, Cooking/Textiles, Art and PE—there was something for everyone to enjoy while learning new skills along the way.
Highlights of the day included creating delicious fruit kebabs, watching a thrilling hydrogen balloon experiment (complete with a big bang—safely conducted of course!), and enjoying a tasty recess provided by the college. Most importantly, the students embraced every moment, making wonderful memories and experiencing the welcoming spirit of La Salle College.
As the day drew to a close, we gathered once more in the gymnasium before heading home, tired but happy after such a rewarding experience.
A big thank you to La Salle College for hosting such a memorable day. Our students will not soon forget this experience as they look forward to future learning and opportunities! 🙌

This week we mark National Reconciliation Week — a time for reflection, learning, and commitment.
We acknowledge the histories, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, the First Nations peoples of Australia. We also reflect on the past and the ongoing journey toward reconciliation.
Reconciliation is more than a word — it’s about building respectful relationships, understanding truth and walking together toward a shared future grounded in fairness, respect and unity.
As a community, we are committed to continuing this journey — to listen, to learn and to take meaningful action.

Today, on National Sorry Day, we pause to reflect, remember and acknowledge the strength and resilience of First Nations peoples.
We recognise the injustice faced by the Stolen Generations and the ongoing impact this has had on individuals, families and communities. Saying sorry is not just about words — it is about understanding, listening and committing to building a more respectful and inclusive future.
As we reflect today, may we all continue to learn, grow and walk together toward healing and reconciliation.

🌟 Yirra Yaakin Visit – A Magical Performance! 🌟
On 11 May 2026, we were thrilled to welcome Jeremy, Pri, and Alana from Yirra Yaakin, a Noongar theatre company, to our school.
Their fun and engaging performance of Djinda Kaatijin took the students on an exciting journey to Spain, Scotland, and India as they helped find the missing stars! With plenty of audience participation, the students worked together to uncover knowledge, music, and stories.
Students loved the humour, creative costumes, accents and improv. Most importantly, they learned valuable lessons along the way:
✨ Treat others how you want to be treated
✨ Believe in teamwork
✨ Don’t let others bring you down
✨ Always stand up for what is right
Thank you, Yirra Yaakin, for such a memorable and inspiring experience! 👏
