Discover the features and versatility of a knitting machine
You’ll gain the skills needed to respond to the demand for diverse and bespoke textile applications in the local fashion industry and community of makers.

Machine knitting is a skill that is widely used in the international fashion industry. In this course, you’ll be introduced to the functionality and features of knitting machines, learning how to set them up, and how to cast on and off. By the time you finish, you’ll have completed a range of knitted samples using techniques such as Fairisle, tuck and slip stitch, lace holes, ladders, colour changing and fringing.

This course is open to current Fashion and Textile Design students, fashion school graduates, textile designers and local community members.

The Tonkin Highway Extension and Thomas Road Upgrade (THETRU) Project is seeking Expressions of Interest to design integrated artwork for the anti-throw screens on the Thomas Road Bridge in Byford.

The selected artwork will be incorporated into large-scale perforated screens as part of the Tonkin Highway Extension and Thomas Road Upgrade Project.

This design-only opportunity is open to WA-based artists and creatives, with artists from the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale, or those with a strong connection to the area, strongly encouraged to apply.

EOIs close 5pm (AWST), Monday 29 June 2026.

This camp is a 5 day take over of the Northbridge print studio, taking mono type, etching, cyanotype, lino, book binding into next level experiences in your practice! We will also have several experienced print lecturers to work with you throughout the course, Shelley Cowper, Vanessa Wallace, Shana James and Dallas Perry.
