The St Hilda’s English Department was delighted to welcome the Black Swan Theatre Company to work with our talented Year 9 thespians!

As part of their study of Romeo and Juliet, students had the opportunity to learn from industry professionals, deepening their understanding of character and exploring the power of Shakespeare’s language. The incursion supported their upcoming assessment, where they will modernise and perform a monologue from the iconic play.

It was inspiring to see our students embrace the challenge, refine their performance skills, and bring new life to the storyteller's words. A wonderful experience that truly brought the text to life! 💫

Winter Woollies Donation Drive 🧣🧦

Our Anglicare Ambassadors are proud to launch the Winter Woollies Donation Drive in partnership with Anglicare WA to support vulnerable members of our broader community during these colder months.

Throughout the drive, students are encouraged to donate winter essentials such as warm socks, beanies, and scarves. These simple yet vital items can make a significant difference, helping to provide comfort, dignity, and protection against the cold for those experiencing hardship.

Together, our school community comes together to share warmth, show compassion, and make a meaningful impact this winter 💛

✨️🎋 Celebrating Tanabata 🎋✨️

Known as the “Star Festival”, Tanabata is based on a romantic legend where two stars are reunited just once a year across the Milky Way. Tanabata is an enchanting time in Japan, filled with colourful decorations and wishes.

Our Junior School students embraced the spirit of this Japanese festival by writing their own wishes on long strips of colourful paper, known as tanzaku, and hanging them on tree branches, symbolising hopes for the future.

It was wonderful to see our girls engaging with this meaningful cultural experience, learning about the story behind Tanabata while expressing their own aspirations.

A heartfelt thank you to three of our wonderful parent volunteers for their time, care, and creativity in bringing the Tanabata display to life!

It was games galore at De Grey’s House Time this week!

The girls participated in a range of fun activities, from yo-yos to dominoes and even a few classic party games like pass the parcel and pin the bill on the duck.

House Time is a wonderful opportunity for our students to come together, build connections across year levels, and enjoy moments of laughter, teamwork, and friendly competition in a relaxed and supportive environment 💙💛❤️💚

Fuelled, focused, and ready to run! 🏃‍♀️✨

This morning, our IGSSA Cross Country team came together for a special breakfast ahead of the upcoming IGSSA Carnival. It was a great opportunity for the girls to connect, fuel up, and build excitement for race day.

While they enjoyed their breakfast, they heard from Old Scholar Isabelle Cox (2024), who shared tips for the run and memories from her time in the St Hilda's IGSSA Cross Country squad.

Finally, our Year 12 runners were celebrated as they ran through the guard of honour into the team huddle.

With full stomachs and strong team spirit, our runners are feeling energised and prepared to represent St Hilda’s with determination and pride next week. We can’t wait to see them in action on the course!

Good luck to all competitors, run strong and enjoy every moment! 👟💫

Go Saints 💛💙
