Reflections from the National Spanish Conference 2026

SLTAWA is pleased to share the latest episode of *Con Ñ de Nosotros*, the podcast of the Spanish Teachers' Association NSW (STANSW), where Macarena and Fernanda reflect on the 3rd National Congress for the Teaching of Spanish in Australia, held in Adelaide and attended by Spanish educators from across the country, including members of SLTAWA.

The episode captures key learnings, innovative teaching practices, and valuable discussions from the conference. It also recognises the dedication of Spanish teachers across Australia who continue to inspire students and promote the many cultural, academic, and professional opportunities that Spanish offers.

The Spanish Language Teachers’ Association committee was honoured to attend Languages Teachers WA’s Volunteers Week lunch 🥂 celebrating the dedication and hard work of language educators and volunteers across Western Australia. 🇦🇺🌏

It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow educators 🤝, share experiences, and recognise the important role language associations play in promoting multilingualism and cultural understanding in our schools and communities. 🗣️❤️

We are grateful to LTWA for their ongoing support and for acknowledging the commitment of volunteers who continue to advocate for quality Languages Education across WA. 🌟

👉 El III Congreso Nacional de Enseñanza de Español de Australia, celebrado en Adelaide, ha reunido a docentes y especialistas para reflexionar sobre innovación educativa, diversidad e IA aplicada a la enseñanza de lenguas.
✔ Además, España y Australia Meridional han firmado un Memorando de Entendimiento para reforzar la cooperación educativa y el aprendizaje del español.

Fue un verdadero placer ser parte del III Congreso para la Enseñanza del Español en la University of Adelaide este pasado fin de semana. Una experiencia enriquecedora que nos brindó valiosas oportunidades para inspirarnos, compartir ideas y conectar con educadores de todo Australia.

WA estuvo presente, continuando su labor por la inclusión y el crecimiento de nuestro idioma en este estado.

Muchas gracias a la Consejería de Educación, el Instituto Cervantes, STASA y la University of Adelaide por organizar este fantástico congreso.

Anoche tuvimos la oportunidad de conocer S.E. Sra Esther Monterrubio Villar, Embajadora de España 🇪🇸 en Australia, una recepción en Perth 🥂.

Algunos miembros de la Spanish Language Teachers Association of WA participaron en un espacio de conversación en español donde se compartieron experiencias y el interés común por seguir promoviendo el idioma y la cultura en nuestras comunidades. 🌍 📚
