ESC Engineering often sees transformer requirements become a discussion later in a project than many teams expect.

While transformers are an electrical infrastructure requirement, they can also influence building layouts, access arrangements, landscaping, parking, and project coordination.

🤔 The challenge isn't usually the transformer itself. It's finding space for it after everything else has already been designed.

Early planning and coordination can help identify requirements sooner and reduce redesign later in the project lifecycle.

ESC Engineering has found that no matter how much planning goes into a project, site inspections always have a way of keeping things interesting.

You arrive with a checklist.
You leave with a few more questions.
Maybe it's a cable that wasn't meant to be there.

A service that's somehow found its way into an already crowded ceiling space. Or that familiar phrase:

"We made a small change..."

That's why site inspections are about more than checking installations.

They're about understanding how design intent meets construction reality.

We've turned some of the most recognisable moments on the site into our Site Inspection Bingo.

If you've spent enough time on site, chances are you'll recognise a few of them.

What's the one thing that almost always seems to come up during a site inspection?

ESC Engineering believes the best engineering outcomes are often the ones people never notice.

Clean ceiling lines, seamless lighting integration, and intuitive spaces don’t happen by accident — they come from early coordination, careful planning, and strong collaboration between architecture and engineering.

Our role is to support the design vision through practical, buildable, and well-coordinated solutions that help spaces function exactly as intended.

Because when engineering is integrated properly, the focus stays where it should be: on the experience of the space itself.

WA conditions play a bigger role in electrical design than most people realise 🌦️

At ESC Engineering, we don’t just design standards. We design for the realities of a large country, Western Australia being the most extreme, including climate differences, site constraints, and coordination challenges across metro and regional locations 📍

From temperature impacts on equipment performance to location constraints, all influence how a system performs once it reaches the site 🏗️

That’s why early coordination and clear documentation matter. When conditions change, clarity in design is what keeps projects moving ⚡

ESC Engineering delivered the electrical services design for Koombana Apartments — a premium mixed-use development combining commercial, residential, and lifestyle spaces within one coastal address.

The project consisted of a commercial ground floor, first-floor car parking, and residential apartments across Levels 2 to 4, designed to provide flexible apartment fit-outs and expansive water views for residents.

Working across a mixed-use environment required careful coordination between services, functionality, and architectural intent to support a high-quality outcome throughout the development.

ESC Engineering is built on three core values: teamwork, reliability, and continuous improvement.

They shape how we collaborate as a team, how we communicate with clients, and how we approach every stage of design and delivery.

The result is clear, coordinated documentation and dependable outcomes—helping projects run more smoothly from concept through to construction. ⚙️🤝

ESC Engineering completed the code compliance upgrade for the heritage-listed Fremantle Town Hall — a project that carefully balanced modern compliance requirements with the preservation of a 140-year-old landmark. 🏛️

Delivered in 2025 as part of a $2M upgrade, the project included investigation of the existing infrastructure, along with the design and documentation of upgraded electrical and fire detection systems for integration into the adjoining Civic Centre. The upstairs seating and lighting were also upgraded as part of the works.

Heritage projects always come with their own complexities, requiring thoughtful coordination and attention to detail at every stage. Working within the existing architectural constraints while maintaining compliance standards was a key focus throughout the project.

A fantastic result for the wider design team, successfully connecting a historic civic building with a modern facility while preserving the character and significance of one of Fremantle’s most iconic spaces.

Reducing rework isn’t just about efficiency: it’s a key part of building more sustainably.

At , we focus on getting the design right early, using BIM to coordinate services in 3D, resolve clashes before construction, and deliver clear, buildable documentation our clients can rely on.

Better coordination, fewer changes, and less waste on site. That’s how we deliver smarter electrical solutions, every time.

ESC Engineering delivered the electrical, communications, and security services design for the new Esperance Indoor Sports Stadium — a facility built to support a growing regional community.

This $8M development goes beyond a typical sports hall, providing a dedicated hub for the Town of Esperance to host everything from junior training to regional tournaments.

The facility features four full-size courts with sprung timber flooring, along with match-day amenities, changerooms, kiosks, and dedicated club storage — all designed for flexibility and long-term use.

A project we’re proud to be part of, supporting a space that will bring the community together for years to come.
