💛 Wear It Yellow Day 💛
On Wednesday 27 May, our students proudly wore yellow to celebrate National Reconciliation Week, and raise awareness for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, and communities.
All money raised was donated to Children's Ground, an organisation that supports First Nations children, families, and communities through education, health, and cultural programs.
Thank you to all of our families for supporting this important cause and helping us celebrate reconciliation together.

🖤💛 ❤️ A Sea of Hands, A Community of Respect
Today our students created a beautiful Sea of Hands display as part of National Reconciliation Week. Each hand represents respect, unity, and our shared commitment to reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians.
As part of this activity, our R–2 students shared important words and messages inspired by this year’s Reconciliation Week theme, while our older students reflected on and wrote their own personal promises towards reconciliation.
A big thank you to Miss Jessop for inspiring this meaningful initiative and for organising our students and staff so thoughtfully. And of course, congratulations to all of our students for the care, creativity, and respect they showed throughout this activity. ❤️🖤💛

Did you know?
The Sea of Hands began in 1997 as a national movement created by Australians for Native Title and Reconciliation (ANTaR). Thousands of colourful hands were displayed outside Parliament House in Canberra to show support for the rights, recognition, and reconciliation of First Nations peoples. Today, the Sea of Hands continues to serve as a powerful reminder that we all have a role to play in building understanding, respect, and a more inclusive future.

What a wonderful celebration we shared at Special Friends Day at St Thomas More School! 💛
Our school community came together for lovely morning filled with connection, learning, and joy! Students were definately excited to welcome their special guests and proudly share a glimpse into their school day.
The morning began with a beautiful community prayer, followed by a variety of environmentally themed activities that encouraged creativity, collaboration, and learning together. It was heartwarming to see students enthusiastically showing their learning spaces, sharing stories, and creating special memories with their guests.
We are grateful for the strong sense of community that makes St Thomas More School so special. ✨

✨ Catholic Education Week ✨
This week, we proudly celebrate the theme “Shine with Open Hearts.” ❤️
Our Reception students beautifully brought this message to life by creating vibrant flames... symbols of the kindness, compassion and joy that shine throughout our school community every day. 🕯️🌟
At our school, we are proud to nurture students who lead with open hearts, care for others, and let their light shine both in and beyond the classroom. These special creations are a wonderful reminder that even the youngest members of our community can make a bright and lasting impact. 💛
We love seeing our students grow in faith, confidence and creativity as they learn to be shining lights in the world around them. ✨

🌟 Walk Safely to School Day 🌟
On Friday we walked from Fremont Park to school as a group - all to help our students build safe, healthy habits on their journey to school. Walking to school isn’t just great exercise, it’s also a chance to learn important road safety skills and enjoy the fresh morning air with friends, family, and our school community...
🚶♀️🚶♂️ What did we learn?
When walking to school:
🚶🏿 Use pedestrian crossings where available
🚶♀️ Look both ways before crossing the road
🚶🏻 Stay alert and avoid distractions like phones or headphones
🚶🏽 Walk with a buddy or group whenever possible
Drivers, please take extra care around school zones and expect more pedestrians than usual. Let’s work together to keep our kids safe and make every walk to school a positive start to the day 💛

✨Sometimes the most meaningful things show up in the smallest, most ordinary moments. ✨
You might not expect to find Jesus hiding near the coffee jar… but maybe that’s the point 🤍☕
When you reach for your morning coffee, you’re usually thinking about the day ahead; not about:
✨ gratitude
✨ kindness, or
✨ connection.
But maybe those quiet little moments matter more than we realise...
💙 Maybe it’s appreciating the simple things.
💙 Maybe it’s noticing the person who filled the jar before you.
💙 Maybe it’s sharing a coffee and truly listening to someone who needs it.
The little hidden Jesus around the school is a fun reminder for our teachers, co-educators, and support staff, that goodness, presence, and meaning can be found almost anywhere… if we slow down enough to notice 🤍
