Today is International Day of Play ๐ŸŽฎโœจ

For neurodivergent young people, play and joy are often overlooked in favour of goals, therapies and constant pressure to improve. But joy is not a distraction from wellbeing โ€” it is wellbeing.

Play helps us connect, regulate, explore who we are and feel like we belong.

At FutureTech, we believe joy is enough.

Does your young person want to find a community that truly gets them?

Based in a regional or rural area? Living outside of Sydney? FutureTech Online might be the right fit for you.

Our online program creates opportunities for neurodivergent young people to connect, build friendships and explore their interests in a safe, supportive and neuro-affirming environment โ€” all from home.

Sessions include STEAM activities, gaming, creativity, coding, collaborative projects and plenty of space for young people to engage in ways that feel comfortable for them. Cameras on? Cameras off? Chatting, typing, sharing screens or simply listening in for a while? All OK.

For many young people, especially those who may feel isolated or struggle to find like-minded peers locally, FutureTech Online becomes more than just a program โ€” it becomes a community.

Our Founder and CEO, Rebecca McCash, recently chatted with Craig Minter on the The Healthy Business Lab Podcast about neurodivergent entrepreneurship, flexibility, creativity, and building businesses that respond to real human needs.

Weโ€™re excited to share the full episode when it goes live this week!

COMING SOON..

Next week on the Healthy Business Lab Podcast, Iโ€™m joined by
Rebecca McCash from FutureTech Australia for a conversation
around neurodivergent entrepreneurship, flexibility, creativity,
and building businesses that genuinely respond to human
needs.

One idea in particular really stuck with me:
falling in love with the problem, not the solution.

We also explored:

โ€ข why flexibility becomes harder as businesses grow
โ€ข the tension between scalability and responsiveness
โ€ข how โ€œmultiple impact streamsโ€ can create more aligned and sustainable organisations
โ€ข and why experimentation is often the path forward

This was a thoughtful and genuinely fascinating conversation.

Keep an eye out for the full episode next week.

This National Reconciliation Week, we reflect on the role all of us play in creating communities where everyone feels seen, valued and included.

This yearโ€™s theme, All In, is a reminder that reconciliation requires all of us. It asks us to listen, learn, challenge inequity, and work together toward a future grounded in respect, truth and connection.

At FutureTech, we believe that stronger communities are built when different ways of thinking, learning and experiencing the world are welcomed and celebrated. We are grateful to continue learning from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, whose cultures, knowledge and connection to community have shaped this land for tens of thousands of years.

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we live, work and learn, and pay our respects to Elders past and present.

๐Ÿค One-on-One Peer Support at FutureTech ๐Ÿค

Sometimes the most powerful support starts with one safe, genuine connection.

Our One-on-One Peer Support program pairs young people with trained mentors who understand how to build trust, confidence and connection at each personโ€™s own pace.

Whether working on social confidence, shared interests, emotional regulation, community access or simply having someone in your corner, these sessions are personalised, strengths-based and neuroaffirming.

Every young person deserves support that meets them where they are.
