Science Series
Each week, we'll be showcasing "This is what learning looks like" across our faculties, highlighting the engaging and hands-on learning experiences taking place around the college.
Part 3: Year 8 Science β Using Solar Power to Generate Electricity βοΈπ
Our Year 8 Science students are exploring the differences between renewable and non-renewable energy sources and investigating how electricity can be generated sustainably.
After constructing their own solar circuits, students observed and recorded the electrical current produced by solar energy. They were amazed to see how sunlight can be transformed into electrical energy and power a circuit.
Through practical investigations like this, students are developing their understanding of energy transformations, sustainability, and the important role renewable energy will play in our future.
A big thank you to Ms Servello for creating such an engaging, hands-on learning experience and helping students bring science to life. π
