শিক্ষাব্যবস্থার সংকট ও প্রত্যাশা:
​শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠানগুলোতে বাংলা ও ইংরেজি ভাষা শিক্ষার ক্ষেত্রে মৌলিক দুর্বলতা বিদ্যমান। বর্তমানে শিক্ষার্থীদের সারমর্ম, প্রবন্ধ, চিঠি, আবেদন, Letter, Essay ইত্যাদি লেখার কৌশল শ্রেণিপাঠদানকালে হাতে-কলমে শেখানোর পরিবর্তে, প্রায় সর্বত্রই তাদের হাতে সহায়ক বা গাইড বই ধরিয়ে দেওয়া হয়, যার ফলে তাদের মুখস্থ করার প্রবণতা তৈরি হয়।
​এটি এক বিস্ময়কর বৈপরীত্য যে, উন্নত দেশগুলো যেখানে শিক্ষার্থীদের লেখায় মৌলিকতা ও সৃজনশীলতাকে গুরুত্ব দেয় (অন্য লেখার ১০% এর বেশি মিল হলে গ্রহণ করে না), সেখানে আমাদের দেশে হুবহু সহায়ক বইয়ের লেখা প্রত্যাশা করা হয়। এই মানসিকতা শিক্ষাব্যবস্থার গভীর সংকীর্ণতা তুলে ধরে।
​যদি শিক্ষার্থীরা কেবল মুখস্থ করেই এসব লেখে, তবে তাদের ভাষা শিক্ষার মূল উদ্দেশ্যগুলি ব্যাহত হয়। মুখস্থ করার মাধ্যমে কেবল স্মৃতিশক্তি ও পুনরাবৃত্তির দক্ষতা সামান্য বিকশিত হতে পারে, কিন্তু ভাষার যে অত্যাবশ্যকীয় দক্ষতা, যেমন: চিন্তার স্পষ্টতা, সৃজনশীল প্রকাশ, যুক্তিনির্ভর বিশ্লেষণ, এবং নিজস্ব শৈলী (অর্থাৎ, পঠন, লিখন, শ্রবণ ও কথনের সামগ্রিক বিকাশ)—তার কোনো উন্নয়ন ঘটে না।
​বাংলা ও ইংরেজি সিলেবাসে এসব বিষয় অন্তর্ভুক্ত করার প্রকৃত উদ্দেশ্য কোনোভাবেই মুখস্থ করানো নয়। এর মূল লক্ষ্য হলো:
১. বিষয়বস্তু সঠিকভাবে আয়ত্ত করা।
২. লেখালেখির কৌশল সম্পর্কে জানা।
৩. শিক্ষার্থীর ভাষার সঠিক বিকাশ সাধন।
৪. সর্বোপরি, শিশুর নিজস্ব চিন্তাশক্তি এবং সৃজনশীলতার বিকাশের সুযোগ করে দেওয়া, যেন তারা স্বনির্ভর ও স্বকীয় চিন্তায় সক্ষম নাগরিক হিসেবে গড়ে ওঠে।
​আপনার চূড়ান্ত আকাঙ্ক্ষা হলো—এই বোধোদয় ঘটুক এবং আমরা যেন আমাদের সন্তানদের যথার্থ শিক্ষা দিয়ে স্বনির্ভর হতে সহায়তা করতে পারি।

Teaching

I will see the world, I will learn every day. The life of a teacher is no exception. In life, one has to always be in pursuit of learning. A teacher should add value regularly. Add something new. Improve one's skills. Once I got a job, I became a teacher and just went to class and taught. It is not like that. It is the duty of a teacher to open the door to new knowledge for students.
A teacher's job is three-1. Acquiring knowledge, 2. Helping in acquiring knowledge and 3. Seeking new knowledge for oneself.

Only a teacher can change the future of a generation. Although we often hear this message about teachers depending on a nation, in reality the issue of proper evaluation and skill development of teachers remains neglected. To bring qualitative change in the education system of Bangladesh, the first thing that is needed is the professional development of teachers. But training alone is not enough, a transformation of overall values ​​is needed. Below, the multidimensional aspects of self-evaluation and skill development of teachers will be discussed in detail.
Reality
The current picture of the teaching profession in Bangladesh is quite complex. On the one hand, some teachers are performing their duties with incredible dedication. On the other hand, various professional limitations are hindering their work. Many teachers continue to teach in the old way due to lack of training. The situation in private institutions is even more delicate, where extremely low salaries, irregular jobs and lack of social recognition break the morale of teachers. As a result, talented students no longer see the teaching profession as an attractive career.

What to do at the personal level

Teachers themselves must come forward on the endless journey of acquiring knowledge. In the current digital era, platforms like Muktapath are providing endless opportunities for world-class education. Not only subject-based knowledge, but also modern methods of teaching must be mastered. Skills such as critical thinking, problem solving and creativity development must be learned in the classroom. Areas for development must be found through reflective practice or thoughtful practice with daily teaching activities.

You have to master digital literacy or soft skills, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint Presentation (PPT), Photoshop, and in advanced learning, you can learn coding, HTML, and graphic design.

You have to know all the functions of Google's services on your mobile phone. It is especially important to know how to use e-mailing, Google Docs, Google Drive, Google Maps, and Google Calendar. You have to learn languages. Both Bengali and English. You should know the correct pronunciation of Bengali pronunciation and English phonetics. You will see that when you speak, pearls will flow from your words.

One of the tasks of a teacher is to do research (actiin research). Learn to think, solve problems. We are very backward in this regard. Except for university teachers, no one else wants to do much research. Now many government college teachers are coming forward. Some are doing MPhil and PhD. But the condition of the foundation of education in primary and secondary schools is very fragile.

Institutional Responsibility

The responsibility of the regulatory authorities and educational institutions is the greatest. The responsibility does not end with just paying monthly salaries; rather, the authorities and institutions must take responsibility for the overall development of the teacher. Regular professional development workshops, peer learning sessions and training through experts should be organized. A career ladder should be arranged for teachers, where promotions are based on skills and experience. Teachers' opinions should be given importance and made a part of the decision-making process.

Some fundamental reforms are needed at the state level. First, complete transparency and a merit-based system should be ensured in teacher recruitment. Second, along with the implementation of the National Education Policy, a Continuous Professional Development (CPD) system should be introduced for teachers. Third, institutions like NEP, PTI, UPTC (Upazila Primary Teacher Training Center) should be strengthened and quality training should be provided to teachers across the country.
All education-related training institutions should ensure active activities through various activities throughout the year. Above all, teachers should be ensured an attractive salary structure by increasing the allocation in the education sector.

Changing social attitudes

Teachers' evaluation is not only a matter of financial but also of social recognition. Parents should participate in the learning process of their children in coordination with the teachers. The media's responsibility is to glorify the profession by promoting the success stories of teachers. At the national level, we should pay tribute to the work of talented teachers by rewarding them on Teachers' Day.
Examples of success
A major reason behind the success of the education systems of Finland, Singapore and South Korea is the high status and regular skill development of teachers. Teaching is one of the other professions in Finland. In Singapore, regular 100-hour professional development training is mandatory for teachers. In Bangladesh, private institutions such as BRAC have also achieved significant success by training their teachers. Short-term primary teacher training at the government level is very negligible.

Teacher evaluation and skill development is not a luxury; rather, it is an essential condition for national progress. Teachers, institutions, government, and society must all participate in a coordinated manner. This is an investment that will have an impact on our children. Improving the quality of a teacher is the foundation of a developed Bangladesh in the future.

সে প্রশ্ন করতো… আর আমরা বলতাম — “এখন না”
একদিন সে আর প্রশ্ন করলো না।
..আর সেইদিন, একটা আলো নিভে গেল।

“আকাশ এত নীল কেন?”
“মানুষ কাঁদে কেন?”
“আলো আসে কোথা থেকে?”

ছোট্ট মুখে প্রশ্ন ছিল,
চোখে ছিল আগ্রহের ঝলক,
আর মনে ছিল শেখার ক্ষুধা।

আর আমরা?

আমরা বলেছি —
“এত প্রশ্ন কেন?”
“এখন সময় নেই।”
“বড় হলে বুঝবে।”

সেই ‘বড় হওয়া’র অপেক্ষায়
সে একদিন প্রশ্ন করাই ছেড়ে দিল।

আমরা তখন বলি —
“আমার ছেলে মনোযোগী না।”
“ও কিছুতেই আগ্রহ দেখায় না।”
..কিন্তু ভুলটা কোথায় হয়েছিল জানি না।

আমরা শুধু উত্তর দিইনি,
আর সে প্রশ্ন করাই ভুলে গেছে।

মনে রাখো,
প্রশ্ন মানেই ভবিষ্যৎকে ছুঁতে চাওয়া,
প্রশ্ন মানেই ভাবার সাহস,
আর প্রশ্ন মানেই একটা উন্মুক্ত হৃদয়।

তাকে চুপ করিও না — পাশে বসে উত্তর খোঁজো।
কারণ একদিন সেই শিশুই
আপনার শেখানো প্রশ্ন নিয়েই আলোকিত করবে পৃথিবী।
