Pleased to share that I have successfully completed the AI Fundamentals Program conducted by the Society of Dyers and Colourists (SDC International Pvt. Ltd.).
This training provided valuable insights into the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence, its applications, and its growing impact across fashion and garments industries.

I am delighted to announce that I have successfully completed the WTO Virtual Training Programme on “The TRIPS Agreement and Bangladesh’s LDC Graduation.”

The programme provided a comprehensive understanding of the WTO’s Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS), covering key areas such as patents, copyrights, industrial designs, trademarks, geographical indications, and enforcement mechanisms. It also explored the opportunities and challenges Bangladesh may face in the intellectual property landscape as it progresses toward LDC graduation.

Among the sessions, the discussion on Copyright, Related Rights, and Industrial Designs was particularly valuable to my work as a fashion and textile educator and researcher. The training strengthened my understanding of how intellectual property frameworks can support innovation, creativity, traditional textile heritage, and the development of the creative economy.

Bangladesh’s higher education system needs a major shift in mindset.

For years, many universities have measured academic performance by classroom hours, physical presence, lecture count, paperwork.

But globally respected universities measure something very different knowledge creation, innovation, student transformation, research impact, industry collaboration, and societal contribution.

A university is not successful simply because teachers are taking more classes or sitting longer in offices. True academic excellence comes when teachers have the opportunity to think, research, create, mentor, innovate, and contribute to society.

At the same time, teaching quality and accountability are also important. Students deserve engaged teachers, meaningful learning experiences, and updated curricula. So the solution is not less teaching — the solution is balanced academic structures.

Especially in creative fields like Textile, Fashion, Design, Media, and Architecture, education cannot survive on memorization and repetitive lecture systems alone. These disciplines require experimentation, studio practice, field research, collaboration, critical thinking, and industry engagement.

If we want Bangladeshi universities to become globally respected institutions, we must move from a “teaching-hour culture” to an “academic impact culture.”

The future of higher education should focus not only on how long we work, but on what value we create.
