πβ TEACHING TIP TUESDAY βπ
Teaching your child to fasten buttons is a simple way to build important skills! ππ
Buttoning helps develop:
ποΈ Fine motor skills
πͺ Finger strength
π Hand-eye coordination
π Independence
Let your child practice buttoning a shirt, jacket, or even a doll's clothes during playtime. Every button fastened helps prepare little hands for writing, drawing, and everyday self-care skills. β€οΈ
Remember: Learning is most effective when it's hands-on! π

πβ TEACHING TIP TUESDAY βπ
Did you know that a simple container of play dough can become a powerful math tool? π’π§
Today, our little learners explored the number 18 by rolling, pinching, and shaping play dough to form the numerals 1 and 8. They also counted out 18 small objects to match the number! π
Why use play dough? π€
β
Strengthens fine motor skills
β
Improves number recognition
β
Encourages counting and one-to-one correspondence
β
Makes learning fun and memorable!
Young children learn best when they can SEE it π, TOUCH it β, and DO it themselves. Hands-on learning helps children build stronger connections and deeper understanding of important concepts.
At DaySpring Academy, we know that learning isn't meant to happen only on paperβit happens through play, exploration, and discovery! πβ€οΈ
What's your child's favorite hands-on learning activity? Tell us below! π

π The best way to teach a child is not to give them all the answers... it's to help them discover them. π
When children explore, experiment, ask questions, and make mistakes, they develop confidence, creativity, and critical thinking skills. π§©πβ¨
Instead of saying, "Here's how it works," try asking:
π "What do you think will happen?"
π "How could we solve this?"
π "What do you notice?"
Every discovery, no matter how small, helps build a lifelong love of learning. β€οΈπ
At DaySpring Academy, we believe children learn best when they are active participants in their own learning journey. ππ±
Sometimes the greatest gift we can give a child is the opportunity to wonder, explore, and figure things out for themselves. π

Before we correct a childβs behaviorβ¦ we must first connect with their heart β€οΈπΆ
Children respond best when they feel safe, seen, and understood. π±
A child who is overwhelmed, frustrated, or emotional often needs connection BEFORE correction. π€β¨
Get down to their level.
Use a calm voice.
Acknowledge their feelings.
Then guide them toward better choices. π
Connection builds trust.
Trust opens the door for learning and discipline. π§ π«
Remember: Discipline is not just about controlling behavior β itβs about teaching and nurturing the whole child. π
