Taktsang Academy Midterm Examination Orientation

Today, Taktsang Academy Management and Examination Committee Members, conducted a clear and meaningful orientation on the upcoming midterm examinations. We provided important guidance and directives to help students prepare effectively and approach their exams with confidence and responsibility.

We emphasized that examinations are not only about academic achievement but also about nurturing the holistic development of every learner—being physically healthy, intellectually sound, emotionally strong, spiritually rooted, and socially harmonious.

We encouraged all students to maintain discipline, honesty, and a positive attitude while balancing their studies with their overall well-being.

Taktsang Academy extends its appreciation to Exam committees for their inspiring session and for guiding our students towards excellence in both learning and character development.

Today, on the occasion of International Day of Play, Taktsang Academy celebrated the event in a meaningful and joyful way. Under the guidance of our Physical Wellbeing Head, the Games and Sports Committee organized a special program based on the "Protect Play Protect Child"

The celebration began with speeches highlighting the importance of play in every child’s growth and development. Students enthusiastically participated in a variety of fun and engaging activities, including balloon-popping games and interactive tasks where they discovered positive messages hidden inside balloons. These activities brought excitement, laughter, and valuable life lessons.

As the Principal, I shared a message with our students, encouraging them to embrace sports and physical activities as a way of life. I also reminded them that if sports is not their passion, they should explore the world of music or other creative pursuits that contribute to their overall wellbeing.

I emphasized that play is not only about physical fitness. It also strengthens intellectual development by improving thinking and decision-making skills, supports emotional wellbeing through happiness and enjoyment, builds spiritual values and good sportsmanship by teaching respect for rules and discipline, and enhances social development by helping us connect with friends, communities, and even the wider world.

At Taktsang Academy, we do not play only to win or lose tournaments. We believe in playing for life—using sports and games as a pathway to nurture the five areas of wellbeing and to help every student and staff member grow into a healthy, happy, and responsible individual.

Taktsang Academy at the IEEE Summit 2026

Taktsang Academy was honored to participate in the IEEE Summit 2026, held from 9–10 June at Zhiwaling Heritage Hotel, with 45 top-performing students and 6 teachers, following an invitation from GovTech Bhutan.

During the two-day summit, our students and teachers gained valuable insights into the partnership between IEEE and Bhutan’s vision for innovation, including the development of the Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC). We explored how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is shaping the future and how it can be integrated responsibly to support Bhutan’s development while preserving our unique identity.

The summit highlighted how AI and digital technologies can:

* Strengthen education, research, and academic growth.
* Enhance the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of young people to achieve their personal goals and contribute to the nation’s vision.
* Support environmental sustainability and the preservation of Bhutanese culture and traditions.
* Promote cybersecurity awareness and help build a safer digital future.
* Create opportunities for innovation and personal growth through IEEE’s global network.

One of the key messages we learned was that technological advancement should always be guided by the Bhutanese values of compassion and mindful development. The discussions emphasized the importance of balancing innovation with the Four Pillars of Gross National Happiness (GNH), ensuring that progress in the new era continues to nurture our people, culture, environment, and good governance.

Our students also actively participated in the interactive panel discussions by asking critical and thoughtful questions on artificial intelligence, technology, education, and Bhutan’s future development. Their curiosity and confidence were highly appreciated by the panelists, and they received valuable responses, insights, and ideas that broadened their understanding and inspired them to continue learning, researching, and innovating for the benefit of society and the nation.

Today was another proud and memorable occasion for Taktsang Academy as our second group of academic toppers had the opportunity to receive their certificates. It was an honour for the certificates to be presented by myself and Mr. Rebsel Dorji, MD of Tourism and Chief of Communication of the Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC).

Our students also had the valuable opportunity to learn more about the vision and development of Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC) and to participate in the IEEE Summit 2026, held from 9–10 June 2026. The conference provided them with meaningful exposure to innovation, technology, and future opportunities.

Taktsang Academy Proud Moment

Today, the Taktsang Academy students who achieved Topper positions for the month of May were given the wonderful opportunity to attend the IEEE Summit at Zhiwa Ling Heritage.

It was a great honor for our students to receive certificates from Dasho Sonam Kinga, whose inspiring words motivated them to strive for academic excellence while also emphasizing the importance of upskilling, character development, and being good human beings.

On behalf of the Taktsang Academy Management and myself as Principal, I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dasho Sonam Kinga for making this a memorable and motivating day for our students. Taktsang Academy Scout Hiking and Camping Program – A Great Success

The Taktsang Academy 370 scouts for Scout Hiking and Camping Program was a great success, filled with adventure, learning, teamwork, and fun. Our scouts participated in an exciting hiking adventure and an educational study tour at COMO Uma Paro, where they gained valuable exposure and learning experiences.

During the camp, students worked in groups on cooking activities, tent pitching, campfire preparation, program coordination, and creative group presentations. These activities helped develop leadership, communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity.

On Sunday morning, scouts began the day with BP exercises, aerobics, and yoga training to promote physical fitness and wellbeing. They also participated in various adventure activities, including monkey climbing, blind hiking, mud crawling, knot-tying lessons, and drill commands. Spending the night in tents allowed students to experience outdoor living, connect with nature, and build resilience and independence.

The program successfully supported the five areas of student development—physical, intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual wellbeing. Taktsang Academy extends its appreciation to all staff, scout leaders, and students whose dedication, cooperation, and enthusiasm made the camping program a memorable and meaningful experience for everyone

Scout Hiking and Camping Program

Today, the Taktsang Academy Kuenphen Scout Troop successfully completed a scout hike from Ta Dzong to the National Scout Centre.

During the journey, our scouts and staff had the wonderful opportunity to visit COMO Uma Paro. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to GM Sir Sonam Wangchuk, the management team, and all the staff for warmly welcoming us, providing an informative tour of the beautiful campus, and extending generous hospitality and refreshments to our students and staff.

This educational visit allowed our scouts to learn beyond the classroom, gain exposure to the hospitality industry, and strengthen the values of teamwork, discipline, and leadership.

We are also excited to continue our adventure with a one-night camping program at the National Scout Centre, where scouts will follow camp rules and participate in activities that promote self-reliance, responsibility, outdoor skills, friendship, and character development.

Thank you to everyone who supported this meaningful scouting experience. We wish all our scouts a safe, enjoyable, and memorable camp. 🏕️⚜️🙏
