Did you know that our Pre-Primary School follows the Reggio Emilia approach to learning?

At GIS, we believe young children learn best through exploration, discovery, and meaningful experiences. The Reggio Emilia approach encourages curiosity, creativity, problem-solving, and independent thinking by placing children's interests and questions at the heart of the learning journey.

Our classrooms are designed as inspiring environments where learners are encouraged to investigate, collaborate, create, and develop a lifelong love of learning. Guided by skilled educators, every child is given the opportunity to express themselves, build confidence, and develop the foundations for future success.

Because when children are empowered to explore the world around them, learning becomes an exciting adventure.

Our Standard 4 students visited Kingfisher farm where they learned about soil, seeds, purple carrots and pink tomatoes! Our little researchers had to determine just how many plants and vegetables are being grown on the farm. Through this excursion, students used 21st Century Skills such as collaboration, communication, and critical thinking. What a fun and engaging learning experience!

✨ GIS Alumni Story | Bridget Siele ✨

"I joined Gaborone International School in 2016 for high school and completed my IGCSE in 2019. Being part of the GIS community was a defining experience one that shaped me into the bold, wise, and confident woman I am today.

GIS provided an environment that nurtured growth beyond the classroom. From culture days, assemblies, and entrepreneurship day to the everyday encouragement from passionate teachers these platforms helped me discover my voice, build strong public speaking and interpersonal skills, and laid the foundation for my career in marketing and communications.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Marketing) from the University of Botswana (2024) and currently serve as a Marketing and Public Relations Officer. I’m also a behaviour change activist and youth mentor, passionate about using storytelling, digital platforms, and community engagement to inspire, educate, and empower.

A good high school like GIS doesn’t just teach it awakens purpose. I’m grateful for the amazing opportunity and the community that still serves me."

💙💛 Congratulations, Bridget! Your journey inspires our current and future learners to dream big, work hard, and live with purpose.
