We are contacting you on behalf of the ‘Family +1 Enhanced Surgical Skills: A Survey of Awareness and Opinions’ research study, a medical student led initiative with collaborators from the the University of Alberta, University of British Columbia, University of Calgary, and University of Saskatchewan. The goal of the Family +1 ESS study is to document the understanding and attitudes of medical students and family medicine residents towards Family Physicians with Enhanced Surgical Skills.
We hope that we can demonstrate that people care about Enhanced Surgical Skills for physicians practicing in rural areas and that this will drive funding for more training opportunities!

We will be having two IG takeovers this week.

Wednesday, July 28th: UCLIC Takeover
Our Tanuki's, Logan and George, will be taking over our IG account this Wednesday, July 28th, who are currently in the UCLIC program and will be there to answer any of your questions about UCLIC and also share their experiences with you.

Thursday, July 29th: Rural Pre-clerkship Rotation
Our Echidna, Jezuina McDonald, will take over the account on Thursday, July 29th, and will share her experience doing her rural rotation in wilderness medicine.

Sun's out, smile's out. Here are some of the amazing executives of the Family and Rural Medicine Interest Group. Following the AHS guidelines, we were finally able to have our first in person meeting. It was so great to finally see each other in person under the warmth of the hot Calgarian sun.
