I went to Calgary this weekend to see Eckhart Tolle.

I didn’t go as some fully “evolved” version of myself, nodding wisely at every sentence.

I went as someone who, years ago, used to listen to his talks / read his books and think:

“I’m pretty sure I understand about 20% of this…” and that’s generous. 😅

There’s a very real early stage of growth that’s basically you trying to understand wisdom while still being a deeply human, reactive, figuring-it-out-in-real-time person. Sometimes while still in survival mode. 🛟

That was me.

Back then, I was collecting ideas, noticing patterns, and occasionally having moments where something actually landed.

One of those ideas was what Tolle refers to as the “pain-body” old emotional residue being activated in the present — often bigger than the moment itself.

Have you ever reacted to something small… in a way that felt disproportionate even to you? 🤯
Like the reaction showed up before your logic even got a vote?

Yeah. That.

Me too.

What I’ve learned is that the work isn’t fixing it.

It’s noticing it fast enough to create even a small gap between stimulus and reaction.

And this weekend was a mix for me.

Part reminder of how far I’ve come.
Part reminder that I’m still in it.

Growth is rarely dramatic.
It shows up in how quickly you recover.
How often you pause instead of react.
How you see yourself a little sooner than you used to.

And you can almost miss it, because you’re too busy trying to become the next version of yourself.

This is a big part of the work I do with leaders and teams.

Not because I’ve figured it out.
But because I understand what it’s like to be inside patterns that shape communication, stress, and disconnection — and slowly learn to see them differently.

The work isn’t about becoming someone else.
It’s about seeing what’s already happening clearly enough that you have more choice in how you show up — in work, relationships, and life. ✨

If this resonates in your leadership, work, or relationships, reach out. I’d love to have a conversation.

🎙️New episode of Let’s Be Diverse out today — I got to sit down with Andrew and talk about bias in career advancement, but not in the way you might expect.

The conversation gets into how our idea of what a “leader” looks like — and who we hire in the first place — can quietly shut some really talented people out.

Have a listen — link in bio. I’d love to know what you think. 💭

I hear it all the time. 👀

Someone venting about a leader who’s making everything harder than it needs to be. A friend stuck in a team where the tension is through the roof. A colleague who doesn’t know whether to stay or go.

Or maybe it’s closer to home — someone you care about who’s IN that leadership role, knows something isn’t working, but doesn’t know where to start.

This is where I lean in — not away.

I come in with one goal: to understand. Not to judge. Not to build a case. But to genuinely support leaders — and the people around them — through real change.

The conversations are hard. The situations are complicated. And that’s exactly when this work matters most. 💡

If someone in your world is navigating something like this — feel free to pass my name along. And if you’re curious whether I might be the right fit, my DM is always open. Never any pressure, just a conversation.

I had a conversation yesterday that stuck with me.

“I’m completely drained. Feeling totally stuck. Fed up. Beyond frustrated why nothing is ever shifting”. 🫩 New Monday, same bs.

When we’re frustrated, unsettled, hopeless even — there is such a high chance that what we’re pouring our energy into is something we have absolutely no control over.

“If they would just change.”
“If they would just take accountability.”
“If they would just see my side.”

Of COURSE we feel helpless. We’re focused on something that was never ours to control. 📣

And look, it makes sense that we go there. Taking responsibility for ourselves, doing our own work, setting a boundary, making our own shifts — that’s the harder road (in the beginning). So we hand our power over without even realizing it. And then we wonder why we feel so stuck.

But it really is as simple as this: the more we focus on what is in our control, the more we move. The more we let go of what we can’t, the lighter it gets.

If you’re spiralling right now — pause. Ask yourself honestly: what am I actually focused on?
You probably already know the answer.

Flip the switch and take your control back.🤍 What we focus on grows. 🌱 Baby steps. 👣

We weren’t meant to live this disconnected.
From the earth.
From our bodies.
From ourselves.
Somewhere along the way, we sped everything up… and started feeling it.

Burnout. Numbness. Always “on.”
Forgetting how to just be.

But the truth?
What we need is already here.
What we put into our bodies…
What we consume…
How we connect with the earth beneath us…

It all impacts how we feel, think, and show up.

This night is about coming back to that.
