Free. Curious. Little 🌱🤎
These images capture the true embodiment of letting children be children. Getting messy, following his curiosity, and experiencing pure joy. It’s exactly the kind of play that says you are safe here to explore, discover and simply be little.

Showed up to the school for pickup today and was immediately greeted by the preschool teachers with, “Shannon! Do you want a huge box?”
The answer was obviously YES! 🤩📦🖼️

✨Did you know Alberta has several public childcare lookup tools available to help families make informed childcare decisions?

Before choosing a childcare program, parents can look up:

* Licensed daycare and out-of-school care compliance history (including non-compliances from the past 18 months)

* Family Day Home Agencies and their compliance history

* Early Childhood Educator (ECE) certification status, level, and any conditions, suspensions, or cancellations on their certification (pretty neat, I looked myself up!)

* Administrative penalties issued to childcare programs, educators, or providers

* Stop orders issued to unlicensed childcare providers

These tools were created to increase transparency and help families better understand the childcare options available to them.

You can find all of Alberta’s childcare lookup tools here:
https://www.humanservices.alberta.ca/oldfusion/childcarelookup.cfm

Knowledge is power, and every parent deserves access to information that helps them make the best decision for their children. ❤️

Today we had an amazing opportunity at Let Them Be Little Dayhome! 🦷✨

A dental assistant came to visit and spent time teaching the children about the importance of taking care of their teeth and keeping their smiles healthy. The kids were engaged, asked great questions, and learned so much about brushing, dental hygiene, and visiting the dentist.

I am so grateful for opportunities like this that help make learning fun and meaningful. A big thank you to our special guest for taking the time to share her knowledge with us! 😁🪥

One of the many beneficial and beautiful things about mixed-age groups is how naturally the older children step into leadership roles. They guide, teach, and model skills for the younger ones, building confidence and kindness in the process.

At the same time, the younger children learn by watching and feel supported in a calm, family-style environment where everyone grows together 💝

🌿 Private Dayhome in Coalhurst | Limited Spaces Available (September 2026)

Hello families,
I operate a well-established private dayhome in Coalhurst. I offer a calm, structured, and nurturing home environment where children feel safe, supported, and truly at home.

With 19.5 years of childcare experience, including 10 years in licensed daycare settings and a reputable dayhome established in 2017, I bring a strong foundation of knowledge, professionalism, and genuine care to the children and families I serve. I hold my Level 1 Early Childhood Education, current Child CPR & First Aid certification, a clear Criminal Record/Vulnerable Sector Check, and numerous certificates and training in child development and behaviour guidance.

My focus goes beyond childcare. I strive to help children build confidence, develop emotional regulation skills, foster positive relationships, and learn through play in a smaller, relationship-based environment. I provide a consistent daily routine, respectful guidance, age-appropriate learning opportunities, and strong communication with families.

✨ What families appreciate about my dayhome:
• Low child-to-caregiver ratio for more individualized attention
• Calm, home-based environment that reduces overwhelm
• Strong focus on emotional development and gentle guidance
• Consistent, long-term care — many children remain with me for years
• Reliable care with minimal illness-related disruptions
• Structured daily routines that promote security, learning, and independence

I take great pride in creating a space where children feel loved, valued, and supported, and where parents can feel confident leaving their child in my care.

Families are welcome to visit my public page, “Let Them Be Little Dayhome” 😊
