Have you ever wondered if your little one is getting enough "wiggles" out during the day? 🤸‍♀️ At Kinder Haven Daycare, we know that movement is the language of early childhood—it’s how children build strength, coordination, and confidence! So, what’s the magic number for children ages 3–5?

According to active-play experts, kids in this age group should strive for at least 180 minutes of physical activity of any intensity throughout the day.

That sounds like a lot, but don't worry—it’s much easier to achieve than you might think! This includes:
- Light Activity: Standing up, playing with toys, or walking around the room.
- Moderate Activity: Playing games, dancing, or light running.
- Vigorous Activity: Playing tag, jumping, or climbing on playground equipment.

At Kinder Haven, we build this into our daily flow with outdoor play, music sessions, and active dance breaks. By the time they head home, they’ve already conquered a huge chunk of their daily goal!

Have you ever wondered how children learn to focus, remember instructions, and handle frustration? It’s not just magic—it’s a crucial set of mental skills called Executive Function!

Think of executive function as the air traffic control system of your child’s brain. It manages distractions, plans next steps, and helps them switch gears when things change. These skills are the single greatest predictor of lifelong academic and social success!

At Kinder Haven Daycare, we don’t use worksheets to build these brain muscles. Instead, we design our daily rhythm around activities that naturally strengthen them:

🎵 Weekly Dance & Music: Learning a dance sequence or pausing when the music stops trains Working Memory and Inhibitory Control (the ability to resist impulses!).
🧩 Montessori-Inspired Independent Play: Choosing a task, focusing on it until completion, and putting it away builds Cognitive Flexibility and focus.
👩‍🍳 Simple Food Prep: Following recipes step-by-step teaches Planning and Prioritization.
