Neurographic Art VI
“what’s up with _____?”
I found an old dollarstore canvas and some cheapy acrylic paint in my art bin.
(you work with the tools that you can fund! 🤣) This one is mixed media. Sharpies, acrylic paint and colored pencil. I did enjoy getting back to the paint of my youth.
Not sure I like the results but it was fun! If this is a picture of my brain, at least it’s colorful and interesting!
In my research it was mentioned that setting an intention and writing it on the back of the piece is helpful. Not really my thing so settled on a question. The line is there to protect the privacy of all people living or dead and specific life events. 😂

Neurographic Art V “freedom”
This one took an angular turn! And shapes within shapes.
I’ve been wanting to learn this tune for awhile now and finally sat down to figure it out. It’s a gorgeous collab between the late poet Andrea Gibson, Sara Bareilles, and Brandi Carlile. Beautiful lyrics ❤️

Tried some gradient pencil shading this time.

Neurographic Art no. 3 “recovery”
All markers this time. Experimented with coloured pencil background and used the “Hyper” instagram filter because I loved the intensity it created.

Neurographic Art II
I wasn’t gonna post this second attempt at Neurographic Art because I don’t like the way it turned out. It may be interesting to look back on the progression though.
The sketchbook paper was too soft so the marker bled alot and blue was not my choice for the scribbled outline. I can’t locate my black marker!
Fun to try new materials and a larger 9x12 page but I enjoyed the small notepad/ink pen combo more.

My first attempt at neurographic art. I saw a reel of someone doing this and thought it was cool. I had no idea it actually has a name and is a form of art therapy for nervous system regulation and processing difficult emotions, among other benefits. A happy accidental discovery ❤️
