A broom In Africa has always been a weapon for many things even though the generations lost it along the way. In the olden days

* If a Woman gets married she will receive a broom from her mother as a gift ,every morning she will sweep the yard at the inlaws with that broom by doing that she's strengthening her marriage preventing things like Divorce.

* If a husband is working underground in the mines the wife when she sweeps in the morning she leaves the broom standing next to the door so that the ground won't fall on top of her husband in the mines up until the husband comes back.

* The very same thing the mother will do if the her Son is a soldier and his at a war .

* If you Pregnant the first and second trimester of your pregnancy you take your first urine In the morning and take a broom sprinkle your tummy and sweep it with a broom usually this was done by Mother's or grandmother's to the one whose pregnant. they is no way you'll loose that child trust me 🤞

* When its Sunset you do not sweep the yard " uhlola isifo ekhaya"

* Spiritually when you sweep in the morning you automatically grant the yard a protection from evil spirits up until the next morning with the help of sun energy. So if you sweep at night you break that connection bcs they is no longer sun. therefore you allow the yard to be harassed by evil Spirits. Hence why our parents always said " akushanelwa ebusuku" . 🤷

* You now understand why it was always said " umthanyelo awulali ngaphandle " if it sleeps outside you must no longer use it.

* Umthanyelo works the same as ishoba hence why some healers makuchelwa ekhaya they use umthanyelo not bcs alikho ishoba but the broom it posses it suitable for the yard.
