You could say this special 'blue moon' on July 31st, bookends our experience with illumination-the month begins and ends with a full moon. This special celestial gift will not recur again until 2018. Long, long ago, our ancestors celebrated a two-moon month with special ceremonies that honored life's cycles. The wheel, the seed and the harvest were special emblems that suggested in microcosm the story of the universe. The ancients also marked this time with projects that began with the month's first full moon and concluded with the second.

In the same way, this full blue moon invites you to look back on all you began and accomplished, and all that eluded you since the month began. It's a great time to reassess, to recommit to those things you seek and desire, and to let go of those that no longer serve or impel you forward. We're encouraged to ask what is it in us that can initiate the change that seems called for? What puzzle can we solve?

Aquarius, ruled by Uranus in this period, asks us to be bigger with our galactic contact. Saturn retrograde for the last two years charged us with the task of exploring and reexamining every aspect of our lives. That journey is in its final phase; in September, Saturn moves on, and we can move forward, too, especially if we begin by embracing the choices offered under the blue moon.

At the same time, Venus enters retrograde for six weeks and is in Leo. She asks us to look at love and relationships and money. She invites us to discard what is finished or merely blocking the way; she invites us to look at love's bigger picture.

The time is auspicious! If we are awake and willing, this blue moon's light will lead us to intelligent love. I thought of this while playing with the Princess App. with my granddaughter; this is blue moon energy, I said to myself. This is Venus retrograde! For we, too, can pick and choose the gown and shoes we want to wear in order to evoke the greatest possible beauty in the world.

Discovery of Solar Eclipse By Atri Rishis of Rigveda

It's always said by shrewd critics that the application of Rahu/Solar eclipse is not vedic but imported knowledge item from Babylonia or Greeks, which is an absolutely wrong allegation for lack of knowledge..
The term "Rahu/Ketu" is a later day astronomical phenomena, before the term Rahu, it was the astronomical term "स्वर्भानु " that was used in Rigveda.
Given below is the specific mantra that explains how Atri Rishi watched and measured the solar eclipse's timing.
स्वर्भानोरध यदिन्द्र माया अवो दिवो वर्तमाना अवाहन्
गूळ्हं सूर्यं तमसापव्रतेन तुरीयेण ब्रह्मणाविन्ददत्रिः । ऋग्वेद ( ५.४०.६ )
The rishi of the mantra is "Atri Bhaum" of clan of "Atri",
The mantra says that when Sun (सूर्यं ) was covered (गूळहं ) by unorderly darkness ( तमस अपव्रते ) Rishi Atri with the help of instrument of Tureeya ( तुरीयेण) attained to (अविंद) the Sun.and removed the maya or the darkness.
This discovery of this solar eclipse is also explained in Brihad Devata of Shaunak rishi, Tandya and Shatpath Brahamanas.
Shaunak Rishi recalls rishi Atri and explains he dispelled darkness that made Sun invisible (सूर्यस्य अपहृत्य).
In Tandya brahamaa, we get more details of the same eclipse where the variations coming in Sun rays towards the end of eclipse are also given.
Pls note name of colors in order Black (कृष्णा), silver( रजत), ferrous (लोहिती) , white (शुक्ल), this is a bit precise scientific description of the Solar eclipse and every time the scientist and rishi Atri is remembered with great honor in all such descriptions of the discovery.
स्वर्भानुर्व्वा आसुर आदित्यं तमसा ऽऽविध्यत्। तं देवान व्यजानन्।
ते अत्रि-मुपधावन्। तस्य अत्रि-र्भासेन तमो ऽपाहन्यत्। प्रथम-मपाहन् सा कृष्णा-विरभवत्। द्वितीयं सा रजता, यत् तृतीयं सा लोहिती यथा वर्ण-मभ्य तृणत् सा शुक्लासीत्।
ताण्ड्य महाब्राह्मण (६.६.८)
In the age of Rigveda, The instrument of Tureeya ( तुरीय ) was built on rocks as given in the next mantra of Rigveda.
Upon close scrutiny, it looks that this was the Total Solar Eclipse that Atri Rishi discovered and measured using Turiya ( तुरीय ) yantra.
The Turiya yantra is still in use by siddhanta astronomers of India, after Rigveda, great astronomer of ancient India, Brahmagupta who made Brahma-Sphuta Siddanta and then great Bhaskaracharya also mentioned application of Turiya yantra in their books of astronomy.
Hence, we clear and close the confusion spread by nonsense critics who have no knowledge of Vedas.

The “Matsya Purana (Sun is the giver of good health). Saints and learned people in India devised different methods of Sun worship and “Surya Namaskar” (prostrating to Sun God).
The ray of the rising Sun was considered very important for the health of all plants and animals including man. This has the capacity to annihilate disease-causing factors and bestow good health. According to “Rig Veda”, the rays of the rising Sun can heal heart problems, jaundice, anemia etc. The “Atharva Veda” also says that the rays have unique healing properties for heart-related problems and for patients suffering from anemia.

Some common ailments given in the list are headache, earache, anemia, diseases of head, deafness, blindness, all kinds of body pain, stiffness of body-joints, all types of fever, jaundice, diseases of stomach, poisoning, diseases caused by imbalance of “Vaata” and “Kapha” elements, diseases of urine, pain in eyes, diseases of lungs, bones, cartilage, intestines, ge****ls, tuberculosis, wounds, diseases of backbone, knees, thighs, leprosy etc.
