Fruit Day is every day you eat fruit. Annually 1st July let‘s celebrate and share fruits worldwide.

Share your favorite fruit with your friends, family, colleagues or needy people. Or you could donate some fruit once or on a regular basis to a local NGO to maybe pursue a wider social aim. Make it a healthy and happy Fruit Day for others too: July 1st is International Fruit Day.

Introducing fruit lovers
Christian Fürst is known for promoting International Fruit Day and the annual vote for Fruit Of The Year - Frucht des Jahres since 2007, aiming to celebrate global fruit diversity. He has been actively involved in raising awareness about this initiative, including the exhibitions BIOFACH and FRUIT LOGISTICA. He works as an education coach at the Vocational Training Centre SOS-Kinderdorf Berlin. This years motto is „plant, learn & celebrate“ fruits.

The twentieth International Fruit Day is on 1st July 2026. That‘s only a fortnight to invite family & friends, work or sports team.
This years Fruit Day is extra special because date is the Fruit of the Year 2026. The motto is "plant, learn & celebrate", everyone around the world is invited to join in!
It is also the UN Year of Female Farmers, celebrating the hard work of women in farming and the amazing variety of fruits we enjoy.
You can plant a fruit tree, learn about different fruits, or simply enjoy eating and sharing them. Let’s celebrate together!

Kings fruit
Pomegranate was named the Fruit Of The Year - Frucht des Jahres in 2024 by International Fruit Day as well as various agricultural and culinary organizations due to its growing popularity and nutritional benefits. This vibrant fruit, with its jewel-like seeds, red juice and antioxidant properties, has gained global recognition as a superfood due to its rich flavor and cultural significance across many regions. It is often called the King of Fruit because of the natural crown it develops.
