Playing with dolls isn’t just fun, it’s powerful!

Through imaginative play, children learn how to express feelings, build empathy, practice communication, and understand social roles. Every little story they create helps them grow emotionally and connect better with the world around them. 💛

April at Amelia’s Center for Learning 🎨

We’re welcoming guest artist Walaa Bedier for a small-group Painting Workshop in Maadi.

This is not a typical “paint and go” session.
We’ve intentionally designed a more thoughtful, child-centered experience where creativity is guided, individuality is respected, and every child has the space to explore and express in their own way.

With only 6–8 students, the environment remains calm, supportive, and genuinely focused on each child.

✨ A safe, inclusive space
✨ Guided artistic exploration
✨ No one-size-fits-all outcomes

Because meaningful learning, and meaningful art, should never feel rushed or crowded.

Hot take 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Globally, there’s a lot of responsibility placed on teachers to adapt and modify. This happens often with limited resources, funding, school support, and acknowledgment of classroom realities. This puts teachers in a really difficult position often pitted against parents, when everyone should be working together as a team.

Furthermore, in international schools, there’s often zero indication, knowledge, or information as to how a child will graduate from their academic career.

For international schools, the first step is to acknowledge there are students with disabilities and diverse abilities in their schools.

Set a plan for graduation. Parents need to know their child won’t be kicked out of the school if they report a learning or intellectual disability.

How will you support that child in their school environment? Teachers?
