Admas University Shares Christmas Gifts with Needy Community Members.
January 06, 2026 – Addis Ababa
Admas University has shared Christmas gifts with needy community members around its Head Office and Mekanisa Campus to support them during the Christmas holiday celebration.
The beneficiaries were selected from Kirkos Sub-City Woreda 01, where the University’s Head Office is located, and Nifas Silk-Lafto Sub-City Woreda 13, home to the Mekanisa Campus. The selection was carried out by the respective local administrations based on assessments that the recipients had no regular source of income.
The Christmas gift packages included chickens and eggs, cooking oil, white flour, soap, and a certain amount of cash to help cover additional needs during the holiday. The donations were made possible through contributions collected from Admas University students and staff members as part of the University’s Christmas charity initiative.
During the handover ceremony, Tibebesilasie T/Mariam, Director of SGACS at Admas University, and Girmay Abadi, Dean of the Mekanisa Campus, stated that the University, in collaboration with its students and staff, has a long-standing tradition of supporting needy communities during various religious holidays and special occasions.
Faiza Asir, a Muslim student from the Mekanisa Campus and a member of the donation committee, emphasized that sharing with others during Christmas does not require belonging to the same faith, but rather having a compassionate heart and a strong sense of humanity. She noted that this belief motivated her and her friends to actively participate in organizing and contributing to the initiative.
Recipients of the Christmas gifts expressed their gratitude, stating that the support from Admas University and students would help them celebrate the holiday with joy and give thanks to God and to those who stood by them during difficult times.
Admas University and its campuses are widely recognized for their commitment to social responsibility and community support, and the University reaffirmed its intention to continue such charitable activities in the future.

Admas University Olympia Campus Hosts Seminar on Intelligent Transport Systems
January 02, 2026, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
The Department of Computer Science at Admas University, Olympia Campus, organized a one-day academic seminar titled “Intelligent Transport Systems in Developing Countries Using Machine Learning: A Case Study of the Addis Ababa–Adama Expressway”.
The seminar brought together academic staff and students from the campus with the aim of enhancing academic knowledge and promoting scholarly discussion on the role of machine learning in modern transportation systems, with a special focus on developing countries.
During the seminar, Girmay Gebray, who presented the case study, explained that the major causes of road traffic accidents and related fatalities are largely human made. He highlighted unethical driving practices, excessive speed, and poor driving manners as the leading contributors to traffic accidents. He emphasized that intelligent systems—such as vehicle-to-vehicle information transmission technologies—are crucial for improving road safety. According to the presenter, this is why many developed countries are introducing and expanding the use of driverless vehicles within their transportation systems.
Speaking at the event, Tesfahun Kumilachew, Dean of Olympia Campus, stated that transportation-related accidents remain one of the major social problems in Addis Ababa and across Ethiopia. He noted that the solutions discussed during the seminar could play a significant role in reducing accidents and minimizing the social and economic losses associated with them. The Dean also announced that Olympia Campus plans to organize similar academic seminars on a monthly basis to help scholars identify key social challenges and explore practical solutions.
The next monthly seminar will be prepared and hosted by the Department of Accounting and Management, continuing the campus’s commitment to academic engagement and community-focused research.
