The Lord Is Our Shepherd!

If you’ve ever felt lost, overwhelmed, or unsure of where life is going, the Bible has a comforting truth:

God is your Shepherd.

From the Old Testament to the words of Jesus in John chapter 10, Scripture paints a powerful picture of God's care, guidance, and protection. He isn’t distant. He’s close—like a Shepherd with His sheep.

So what does that actually mean? Let’s unpack it.

Psalm 23 – The Original Shepherd Psalm
Long before Jesus walked the earth, David wrote these famous words:
"The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want." (Psalm 23:1)
David knew what it meant to care for sheep—he used to be a shepherd himself. He knew sheep were helpless on their own. They needed someone to guide them, feed them, protect them.
That’s how he saw God. And that’s how we should see Him too.

God leads us to still waters. He restores our souls. He walks with us in the darkest valleys. The image is clear: we are not alone.

Ezekiel 34 – God Promises to Shepherd His People
The Old Testament prophets also spoke about God as our Shepherd. In Ezekiel chapter 34, God rebukes the false shepherds—leaders who abused and neglected the people.
Then God says something amazing:
"I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep." (Ezekiel 34:15)
God promises to rescue, feed, and care for His flock personally. That promise sets the stage for something huge in the New Testament.

John Chapter 10 – Jesus Fulfills the Shepherd Promise
In John chapter 10, Jesus doesn’t just say He’s a teacher or miracle worker. He says:
"I am the good shepherd." (John 10:11)
And what does the Good Shepherd do?
He lays down His life for the sheep.
This is not a hired hand who runs away when danger comes. Jesus is the Shepherd who stays, who protects, and who ultimately sacrifices Himself for us.
He also says:
"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me." (John 10:27)
It’s personal. He knows you by name. And He’s calling you to follow Him, just like a sheep follows the voice of its shepherd.

Isaiah 40 – A Shepherd Who Holds Us Close
Isaiah also gave this tender image of God:
"He tends His flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart." (Isaiah 40:11)
That’s the same heart Jesus has. Strong enough to guard us. Gentle enough to carry us.

So What Does This Mean for You?
If Jesus is your Shepherd, you are never truly lost.
He leads you when you don’t know where to go.
He feeds your soul when you’re running on empty.
He protects you from spiritual danger.
He gave His life to save you.

And right now, He’s calling.
Do you hear His voice? Will you follow? You don’t have to figure life out on your own. You just need to stay close to the Shepherd.

How Jesus Taught Us to Live a Godly Life

A lot of people ask this question:
How do I live a godly life?

Here’s the thing — Jesus didn’t just teach about godliness, He lived it out. And if we’re serious about following Him, we need to study how He lived and follow that same pattern.

So here are 5 powerful ways Jesus showed us how to live a godly life, straight from the Bible:

1. Love God First
Jesus said the greatest commandment is this:
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." (Matthew 22:37)
It all starts here. Godly living isn’t just about doing the right things. It’s about loving God deeply — with everything we have. If the heart isn’t in it, the rest won’t last.

2. Follow Him Daily
Jesus said, "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me." (Luke 9:23)
Following Jesus isn’t just about Sunday mornings or when life gets hard. It’s a daily decision — to walk like Him, think like Him, and obey Him even when it costs us something.

3. Live with Integrity
Jesus warned about doing “righteous” things just to be seen by others (Matthew 6:1). He wants us to be real.
A godly life means being the same person in private as you are in public. That’s what integrity looks like. No masks. No fake version of Christianity. Just genuine faith that shows up in how you live.

4. Serve Others with Humility
One of the most shocking moments in Jesus’ ministry was when He washed His disciples’ feet (John 13). He said, "I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you."
Serving others is at the center of Christian living. If Jesus, the Son of God, served like that — then we’re not too important to do the same.

5. Stay Rooted in God’s Word and Prayer
Jesus is the Word (John 1:1), but He still prayed constantly and quoted Scripture.
He said, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God." (Matthew 4:4)
Godly living requires spiritual food. The Bible and prayer aren’t optional — they’re your daily lifeline. You can’t walk like Jesus without them.

The Bottom Line?
Living a godly life isn’t about being perfect. It’s about following the perfect One.
"Whoever claims to live in Him must live as Jesus did." (1 John 2:6)
So today, take a step.
Open your Bible. Pray with intention. Love someone well.
And most importantly… follow Jesus.

Is Jesus Really God? Revelation Says Yes

Some people say Jesus was just a prophet or a wise man. But the Book of Revelation shows us something greater. Jesus isn’t just part of the story—He’s the center of it.

In Revelation chapter 1 verse 8, Jesus says,
"I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the ending… the Almighty."

He also says in verse 18,
"I am He that lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore."

Only God can speak like that.

In Revelation chapter 5, angels in heaven worship Jesus and say,
"Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power, riches, wisdom, strength, honor, glory, and blessing."

He’s not just respected—He’s worshiped in heaven alongside God the Father.

In the final chapter, Jesus says,
"I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last."

And He invites all who are thirsty to come and receive eternal life.

Jesus isn’t just a messenger. He is the source of the message. The Book of Revelation doesn’t just hint—it boldly declares:

Jesus is truly God.

God Is Bigger Than Our Minds Can Handle

Let’s be real—our human minds are small. We can’t even understand all of creation, let alone the One who created it.

God is not just greater than the universe… He’s beyond imagination. Isaiah 55:8–9 reminds us: “My thoughts are not your thoughts… as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways.”

You can’t put God in a box. You can’t figure Him out like a puzzle. He’s eternal. Infinite. Unsearchable. That’s not a reason to give up—it’s a reason to worship.

The mystery of God isn’t a problem to solve. It’s an invitation to bow in awe.

Why Did Jesus Step Into Time, Space, and Matter?

God is eternal. He exists outside of time, beyond space, and untouched by physical matter. So why would He enter the world He created?
Because we were trapped in it—trapped by sin, bound to time, stuck in space, and living in bodies that decay. And He came to rescue us.
Jesus, the eternal Son of God, stepped into time, walked through space, and took on flesh. John 1:14 says, “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” He didn’t just visit—He became one of us.

He had to live in time, to redeem our broken days. He had to move through space, to meet us where we are. He had to take on a body, so He could carry our sin to the cross.
Only a true man could die for mankind. Only a true God could defeat death.
Jesus was both.
He entered time to give us eternal life. He stepped into matter to heal our broken nature. He crossed space to reach the lost. And now, through Him, we can be restored to the God who lives beyond it all.
That’s why Jesus came. That’s why the gospel is more than a message—it’s a rescue mission from outside of time itself.

God Exists Outside of Time, Space, and Matter

In Genesis chapter 1 verse 1, it says, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” That one short verse introduces all three dimensions of our reality. “In the beginning” speaks of time. “The heavens” refer to space. “The earth” is matter. Right at the start of the Bible, God reveals that time, space, and matter had a beginning. And since God existed before them, He cannot be contained by them. He is above and beyond them. He is not a product of creation—He is the Creator.
