🔵📏 Our busy Kingfisher's have been exploring circles in maths! As part of the Year 5 geometry curriculum, they have been learning to identify and measure the radius and diameter of a circle. 🧮✨ Did you know the radius is half the diameter? The children certainly do! 🌟

📚✍️ Last week, our governors visited to learn more about writing at Drayton. After exploring books and our curriculum with school leaders, they met with our School Council—the highlight of the visit! 🌟 Our children shared their thoughts, ideas and experiences of writing with confidence and pride. ⚽🌍 We kicked off the start of the World Cup with a delicious football-themed lunch yesterday! 🍔🥅
The burgers were a huge hit, the Kick-Off Cookies scored a winner, and the Eton Messi dessert was a tasty treat! 😋🏆

📖Robins loved reading How Rude! today! Together, they explored how Duck could be kinder to Dot, linking to our value of Be Kind – to me, to others, to the world 🌍. From sharing and helping others to using kind words, the children showed that kindness is at the heart of our school community. 😊✨

🎨✨ Red Kites kicked off Term 6 with some beautiful landscape art! 🌄
The children explored what makes a great story and agreed that painting a picture with words helps bring writing to life. Inspired by their artwork, they will be using adjectives and adverbs to create vivid descriptivesentences. ✍️📚
We can't wait to see how these stunning landscapes inspire their writing! 🌟

🍽️✨ A huge thank you to our amazing kitchen and office teams yesterday! When an extractor fan issue meant a last-minute lunch change, they responded with calmness, teamwork and a smile, keeping everything running smoothly for our children. 💙❤️
