To celebrate Father's Day, Penguins travelled by train from Wythall to Henley-in-Arden. During our train journey, we looked carefully out of the window and talked about the things we could see and hear along the way. We spotted houses, sheep, horses, trees, fields, and stations, and listened to the sounds of the train travelling on the tracks.
When we arrived in Henley-in-Arden, we enjoyed an ice cream and then went to the park to play and have a picnic. We had lots of fun exploring, playing together, and talking about our journey. It was an enjoyable day out and a great opportunity to observe the world around us. πΊοΈ π π¦

Our Reception children had a wonderful time celebrating Fatherβs Day and the special male role models in their lives during our latest Forest School session!
From building epic dens to crafting bows and arrows inspired by the archers at Warwick Castle, the creativity was flowing.
Of course, the absolute highlight of the day was an epic water pistol fight that left everyone thoroughly soaked!
We are so grateful for our whole school community and all the different forms that love, guidance, and family take.
A massive thank you to all the dads, grandads, uncles, and father figures who joined us and helped make the afternoon so incredibly special. πͺ΅πΉ

Year 5 are currently fully immersed in a fantastic learning experience during their residential visit, working with Dreamshed Theatre to prepare a Shakespearean performance together. It has been wonderful to see the children develop their oracy skills, confidence and empathy through drama, whilst collaborating creatively and bringing Shakespeare's characters and stories to life. We can't wait to see the final performance tomorrow! πβ¨

The Reception children had a wonderful day on their trip to Warwick Castle this week! It was an exciting opportunity for them to bring their learning to life as they explored a real castle and discovered what life might have been like many years ago.
Throughout the day, the children impressed us with their knowledge, using what they had learned in class to talk about the different parts of the castle and their purpose.
One of the many highlights of the day was watching the enormous trebuchet launch. The children were amazed by the power of this medieval machine and loved seeing it in action. They also climbed all the way to the top of the keep and pretended to be knights watching out for enemies!
The excitement continued as we watched brave knights battle to protect their kingdom. The children cheered and gasped as they watched the action unfold, imagining what it would have been like to live in a castle long ago.
A visit to the Princess Tower added a touch of magic to our day, and the children loved meeting the princess and taking part in rescuing Queen Eve. We were also captivated by the incredible bird of prey display, where we watched magnificent birds soar through the sky and an owl even swooped next to our heads! π°

We look forward to seeing them develop new skills together through the drama workshops for the remainder of the week.

Our Reception children have been busy developing their number knowledge by counting to 20 and making groups of 10. Through practical activities and hands-on learning, they have been exploring how numbers can be organised and represented in different ways. Fantastic mathematical thinking, Swans and Pelicans! π’β
