Every June, London hosts one of the most spectacular celebrations in the British calendar – Trooping the Colour. This grand military parade marks the King’s official birthday and has taken place for over 250 years. Thousands of people line the streets to watch, and millions more see it on television around the world. It is a brilliant example of the history and tradition that makes Britain so unique. 🇬🇧
This year it’s on Saturday the 13th of June - don’t miss it if you’re in London!

"Lucy's teaching exceeded all expectations. Her teaching methods are always engaging and innovative. The two children loved her from the start and adored her lessons."
— Silvia, Parent & Child student
Silvia stayed with teacher Lucy alongside her two children, aged 8 and 10. One of the many things we love about the parent and child course is that the whole family gets to experience English learning together – at their own pace, in a warm and welcoming home.

This Earth Day, the theme is ‘Our Power, Our Planet’ – and we think that starts with the small decisions we make every day.
One of ours: no printed coursebooks. Our teachers use digital resources and tailor every lesson to the individual student. It is a small choice, but it reflects something we really care about – learning that is personalised, thoughtful and mindful of the world around us.
Happy Earth Day 2026. 🌍

English is full of surprises — and sometimes the most interesting words are the ones we never think to question.
‘The’ is our most-used word in the English language. It is only three letters long, and yet linguists and philosophers have spent centuries arguing about what it actually means.
This thread by breaks it down beautifully — from Bertrand Russell’s banana to ghosts in attics — and ends somewhere unexpected!
