Sensory change is the idea that we as parents can help our children to overcome sensory integration issues and re-wire the connections in the brain were those connections are missing. I would love to help parents of children with sensory integration issues and share my success story and resources with you and at the same time raise awareness of the areas disciplines and resources in which we as p

The gut in kids with autism is almost always inflamed. The lymph vessels that run through the abdomen are supposed to clear waste, reduce inflammation, and keep blood moving through the digestive system. When they get sluggish or blocked, everything backs up. Food sits there. Toxins build up. The gut lining stays irritated. And your child stays uncomfortable no matter what you feed them.
That is where the circular movement comes in.
When you gently move your fingers in circles around the belly button, you are manually stimulating those lymph vessels. You are encouraging drainage. You are helping blood flow back into tissue that has been starved of circulation. You are waking up a system that has been stuck.
It is not magic. It is mechanics.
The gut and the brain talk to each other constantly. When the gut is blocked and inflamed, that signal going up to the brain is a threat signal. That means more dysregulation. More sensitivity. More meltdowns. More demand avoidance. More everything you are already exhausted by.
Two minutes of gentle circles around the belly button is not going to fix everything. But for a lot of children with autism, it is the thing nobody ever tried. And some of the parents I work with have seen shifts in digestion, in comfort, in mood, within days of starting it.
Start clockwise. Gentle pressure. Right around the belly button. Once or twice a day.
That is it.

**Your child’s brain runs on energy. Most kids do not have enough.**

We added the Neuronic helmet to our toolkit and parents keep asking what it actually does.

Here is the simple version.

It uses near infrared light at a wavelength that reaches the mitochondria in brain cells, the part that makes energy. More energy means the brain has more fuel to do its job. Focus. Communication. Calm. Sleep. All of it takes energy.

Six to ten minutes a day. No pills. No needles. No fight to get your child to sit still for something they hate.

We are seeing it support:

Focus and attention
Calmer regulation, fewer meltdowns
Better sleep
More attempts at communication in kids who struggle to find words

This is not magic and it is not a cure. It is one more tool that gives an already hardworking brain a better starting point each day. We use it alongside the work we are already doing with your child, not instead of it.

If you have been watching your child struggling and wondering what else is out there, this might be worth a conversation.

DM me “webinar” and I will send you the link to our session with Neuronic where we go deeper on how this works.

The rooting reflex is one of the first reflexes your baby is born with.

Stroke a newborn’s cheek and their head turns toward it, mouth open, ready to feed. It is meant to disappear by around 3 to 4 months, once feeding becomes a learned skill instead of an automatic reaction.

But sometimes it doesn’t fully integrate. And when it sticks around past infancy, it can show up in surprising ways years later.

Drooling past the toddler years. A mouth that hangs open at rest. Fussy eating or strong texture aversions. Speech that sounds unclear. Even a tendency to turn the head toward touch on the face without meaning to.

None of this is your child being difficult. It is their nervous system still running a programme it was supposed to switch off as a baby.

The good news is this reflex can be checked for and it can be integrated, even outside the newborn window.

If any of this sounds familiar, it might be worth a closer look at what is going on underneath the behaviour.

Your child is not the problem. Their nervous system needs support.

Most parents have never heard of primitive reflexes. But they could be the missing piece behind your child’s meltdowns, mouth stuffing, sensory seeking, and emotional dysregulation.

These reflexes are meant to switch off in the first year of life. When they don’t, they keep running in the background like an open app draining your child’s battery.

The snout reflex is just one of them.

And the good news? They can be integrated. At any age.

If you want to understand what’s really going on in your child’s nervous system, start with our free Primitive Reflexes course.

My son lost his voice. Not from illness. His nervous system was so dysregulated, the words just couldn’t come out.
We took him everywhere. Specialists across the world. Test after test. Scan after scan. Everyone looked, and nobody could tell us what was actually going on.
What helped wasn’t a device. It wasn’t another doctor. It wasn’t another diagnosis.
It was daily work on his nervous system. Every single day. Until his body felt safe enough to let his voice come back.
That’s what changed everything for us.
If you’ve been searching for answers and feel like you’ve tried it all, I want you to know there’s another path. One that starts with calming the nervous system, not chasing another test.
This is the foundation of everything we do at Hopeful Neuron. It’s why we built the Method around regulation first.
Your child is not the problem. Their nervous system needs support.

Mitochondria need light to make energy. Most kids today are missing it completely.

Think about your child’s day. Artificial light when they wake up. Fluorescent lights at school. More LED lights at home. Then a screen until bedtime.

Real sunlight? Maybe 20 minutes if they’re lucky.

Mitochondria run on light, especially red and near infrared. Without it they slow down. And when they slow down, so does everything else. Energy. Focus. Sleep. The ability to actually switch off at night.

That’s why so many kids are tired but wired. Running on empty but can’t relax.

We started using a red light panel with our own kids and the sleep difference was the first thing we noticed. Just 10 minutes a day.

If you’ve been looking for one more piece to add to your child’s evening routine, this might be it.

This is the Neuronic helmet. Red and near infrared light, used at home, ten minutes at a time.

If any of this sounds familiar, keep reading.

Bedtime takes two hours and ends in tears for everyone.
One small change in routine and the whole day falls apart.
Homework becomes a daily battle.
Meltdowns that feel completely out of proportion.
You are exhausted and wondering if anything will actually help.

We understand. We have been there too.

The helmet works by giving the brain extra energy through gentle red and near infrared light. When the brain has more energy available, sleep, focus and emotional regulation often become easier.

We are hosting a free live webinar with Neuronic on Wed 25 June, 7PM UK. We will explain exactly how it works, what to expect, and whether it could be right for your child.

Free to attend. Replay available if you cannot join live.
