Thank you to Mark and John from Bexley Women's Aid, who came on Tuesday to collect the Welcome Packs and to Maple Class for helping them to pack the van.
We have since received this email from the charity:
"Thank you again for all of the wonderful donations that were collected by the pupils of your school and others – we are blown away with the generosity! I arrived back to our very small office yesterday after Mark and John had collected and the whole office was full of the bags – it was a wonderful sight and our service users will be so grateful. The first batch went out straight away yesterday afternoon and another 12 are going today."

If you are in years 4 - 6 and fancy learning to play a bass instrument there is a try out afternoon being held at Bexley Music this Saturday 6th June. There will be time to book a slot after the Sherwood Park summer festival.

All of us at Sherwood Park are extremely grateful to Mr Cameron and his company PSTG Fire Protection for funding the entire refurbishment of the Key Stage 2 Hall and the infant toilet block.
The children really love the new look hall as it is now clean and bright.
We are sure there will be plenty of photographs of the children enjoying the space in the future.

As a Gold Rights Respecting School, we strive to help our children understand their place in society and how they can make a positive difference within their community.
Over the past 12 months, by listening to our children's voices and acting on their ideas (Articles 12 and 13 of the UNCRC), we have achieved some incredible things together:
👟 We prevented over **300kg of clothes and shoes** from going to landfill by donating them through charitable partnerships.
💌 We created **300 Christmas cards** for local residents living with dementia, spreading kindness and helping our children understand the importance of caring for others.
🌍 Our Eco-Warriors' ideas, hard work and dedication to improving our school environment helped us achieve the prestigious **Eco Primary School of the Year** award.
🧡 Most recently, through our partnership with **Bexley Women's Aid** and local schools **Barrington, Bursted Wood and Coopers Lane**, we created almost **100 Welcome Packs** for local women and families experiencing difficult times. These packs will provide comfort and support to those who need it most.
We are incredibly proud of the impact our children have made in their local community. Their ideas, compassion and determination continue to inspire positive change.
We can't wait to see what the next 12 months will bring as we continue to listen to, value and act upon our children's suggestions. By respecting children's rights and empowering them to be active citizens, we are helping them understand that their voices matter and that they have the power to make a positive difference in the world around them.

We are excited to announce that we have partnered with Blackfen Community Library for a very special competition! 📚✨
The library is looking for beautiful artwork to display, and the theme is “Books Coming Alive.”
Can you create an artwork inspired by our poster theme, showing a book coming alive with imagination bursting from the pages? ✨
Think magical characters, adventures, creatures, rockets, castles, animals, stars, and storybook worlds flying out of an open book!
We’d love to see:
📖 A person opening or reading a book
🌈 Colourful imagination flowing from the pages
🐉 Creative characters and magical scenes
⭐ Lots of detail, colour, and creativity!
🖍️ Please create your artwork on A4 paper and bring all entries to Miss Holkham by 20th June.
Need a little inspiration?
Miss Holkham will have a “Books Come Alive” template available for any children who would like help getting started. Children can then add their own magical characters, colours, and creative ideas to make it their own! ✨
Let your imagination come alive! 🌟

This week our netball team played a friendly netball game against Fosters Primary School. Our team defended brilliantly throughout the game, showing great teamwork and determination. Unfortunately, we were unable to score enough goals to secure a win. Well done to everyone who played - you should be very proud of your effort and sportsmanship! Thank you to all the parents and carers who came to support them.
