What an incredible afternoon at our First Give Final!
Our Year 8 students demonstrated outstanding integrity, compassion and dedication as they presented on behalf of the charities they have been supporting throughout the programme.
Each group spoke with confidence and genuine passion, showcasing not only excellent presentation skills but also a deep understanding of the causes they had championed. Their commitment to building meaningful relationships with their chosen charities shone through, making the judging process incredibly difficult.
Congratulations to 8A, who were crowned this year's winners and secured a £1,000 donation for The Exit Foundation. The charity works to support young people and adults to move away from gang involvement, crime and challenging circumstances through mentoring, guidance and pathways into education, employment and training.
We are immensely proud of every student who took part. They represented The Elms Academy brilliantly and showed the power of young people making a positive difference in their communities.

Students Showcase Their Artistic Talents in House Portrait Competition
This week, students took part in a House Event that challenged them to create portraits of members of staff.
We were incredibly impressed by the quality of work produced, with students creating thoughtful and detailed portraits that captured the personalities of their subjects.
A huge well done to everyone who took part and contributed to another successful House Event. We love seeing our students embrace opportunities to express themselves creatively and earn valuable points for their houses.
Fantastic effort from all involved!
Seventeen Year 9 students have successfully completed their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze expedition
Beginning in Broxbourne, Hertfordshire, they travelled along the River Lea to Tottenham’s Markfield Beam Engine, camping overnight at Gilwell Park, Chingford
Throughout the expedition, students showed impressive independence and resilience — navigating using only maps and compasses, cooking on camping stoves, and carrying all their own equipment. They worked together brilliantly, supported one another, and showed real determination from start to finish.
A huge well done to all students involved.
Special thanks to Mr Agyemang, Mr Boakye, and Ms Hasan for their support throughout, including staff who gave up their own time (and even a birthday weekend!) to ensure the expedition ran smoothly
Charities Week at The Elms Academy – part of the programme
Students took part in a brilliant week of activities, including Capture the Flag, Students vs Teachers Dodgeball, I'm a Teacher Get Me Out of Here and Sponge the Teacher.
The week supported CDARS (), , Storm Family Centre and Exit Foundation, helping raise awareness for some fantastic causes.
A big thank you to all students and staff who got involved, supported the events and helped make the week such a success.
Eco Club (David Attenborough) Trip
As part of Monday’s enrichment, our Eco Club visited Clapham Common to continue their work as “Nature Detectives”.
Students explored the park, observed wildlife and habitats, and discussed creative ideas for protecting and improving our local green spaces.
A fantastic hands-on learning experience outdoors!
Our Year 9 King’s Scholars had a fantastic experience at a Careers Fair at King’s College London recently.
The day started with a Q&A panel where guest speakers from a broad range of professions shared their career journeys and offered advice about education and future career opportunities.
It was a brilliant opportunity for students to speak to professionals from fields including law, transport, policing, medicine, and start thinking about their own future goals.
