Another beautiful afternoon in Forest School.
Year 4 enjoyed finding more old items for our Forest School museum. The hole was originally dug up by our Year 2 class, then Year 3, and now Year 4 are discovering intriguing items- including half a tea cup.
Other children created a miniature model of our Forest School area, a rope seat (with a back) for a quiet spot that looked at nature and a pyramid campfire.

Innovation, skill, communication, creativity and confidence- just a few words to describe Year 2's Forest School session today. After some knot practise, the pupils of Ash Class built shelters, obstacle courses, swings and a fairy bed; all whilst embracing their surroundings.
A true reflection of the benefits of Forest School and the wonder of nature.

Our Forest School pupils spent the day designing and building shelters, developing resilience, communication and problem-solving skills along the way. The only thing missing was a kettle and a mortgage application! 😆
🌿 Learning, growing and thriving in God's great outdoors.

Sycamore Class (Y5) have been busy developing their newspaper report writing skills!

They have been learning how to include key features such as reported speech, direct speech, witness comments, and the 5 W’s (who, what, when, where and why).

Using short films from Literacy Shed as inspiration, the children have created some fantastic pieces of writing. We still have more work to do, but we are incredibly proud of everything they have achieved so far!

Year 6 went to listen to the very wonderful Chris Packham at Ark Putney Academy this morning. We loved hearing about his ideas on how we can better engage with the natural world. Thank you, and for an inspiring talk.

Maple and Rowan class have been finding out about the artist Matisse and his picture The Snail. We have made our own amazing cut out pictures in his style. Take a look!
