This is our writing challenge. I change it daily and it is heavily scaffolded to support children to feel successful. The level of scaffolding changes to accommodate the children’s needs.
We celebrate everything at the end of the day that the children have produced - we celebrate scribbles, pictures, random letters, words and sentences. It’s important all children feel they can achieve here.
I also instil a culture of supporting each other here, so children will ask each other what the sound is or how to write that letter. Watching them be supportive friends is 🫶🏻
We have a very inclusive class and this is one way I’ve adapted my teaching to support all the children 🩷

Always got so much stuff to do and always doing other stuff 😅 could this have waited until the summer? Yes. Should I have spent my time writing reports? Yes. Am I glad I did it? Also yes 🙂😂
I find this the weirdest comment. Why wouldn’t it be fun to learn 🙃 we only do children a disservice if we teach them that learning = boring and hard!
