What is geothermal energy?

Geothermal energy is heat within the earth. The word geothermal comes from the Greek words geo (earth) and therme (heat). Geothermal energy is a renewable energy source because heat is continuously produced inside the earth. People use geothermal heat for bathing, to heat buildings, and to generate electricity.

Two ways of harnessing geothermal energy.
A. Geothermal Power Plants which have three basic types: Dry steam, Flash Steam and Binary Cycle Power Plants
B. Geothermal Heat Pumps which is used in cooling and heating purposes. It can be used as closed or open loop systems which depend on a variety of factors.

🔰can be divided as:

🔰pure science deals with scientific theories, facts, principles and concepts while applied science deals with practical application of theoretical sciences (e.g. medicine, engineering)
🔰Life science includes biology and its branches while physical science includes physics, chemistry, earth science and astronomy.

📌Applied Science – deals with the application of theoretical sciences like social and natural sciences (e.g. medicine, engineering, architecture)

💭Though this post tried to divide science into major division or branches, but science isn't always easily divided into branches as there is much overlap between them.
