A control valve is a vital component in industrial automation systems, designed to regulate the flow, pressure, or level of process fluids by adjusting the size of the flow passage. It consists of five main parts that work together to ensure precise control. The actuator provides the mechanical force needed to move the valve stem according to the control signal, while the positioner ensures the stem reaches the exact position required by comparing the signal with the valve’s actual position. The bonnet connects the actuator to the valve body and maintains a pressure‑tight seal, protecting internal components. Inside the valve, the trim—comprising the plug, seat, and cage—directly controls the fluid flow rate and direction.
