Year 6 discovered some budding TV stars of the future on their recent trip to the Sky Up Academy (or at least, got to play dress-up for a morning, which is arguably the same thing!) Thank you to Miss Allen for coordinating the opportunity and Mr Willimott, Mr Bidewell, Mrs Mushtaq and Mr Hafid for transporting the children there and back!

Don't miss your chance to pick up a sweet treat on Friday afternoon outside of the Year 3 classroom, all in aid of Mrs Patel's charity climb of Kilimanjaro! I hear there may also be a chance to throw wet sponges at a certain student teacher based in Year 6...!

We felt extremely proud of our School Council yesterday, as they took part in an outstanding student leadership presentation, together with their counterparts from Little Reddings Primary School and Bushey Meads! They spoke eloquently on the virtues of a leader, the impact they have had this year, and the advice they will be passing on to next year's councillors! Thank you to Miss Bladon, who has expertly chaired School Council this year, as well as Miss Bacon and Mr Knowles from Little Reddings and Bushey Meads respectively, for all of their work on this project.

History came alive for Year 2 yesterday, as they took part in a Victorian Experience Day at Reveley Lodge! They enjoyed a tradition Victorian tea, took part in some good old fashioned chalkface teaching and will certainly be able to help with the washing at home now after learning about the mangle! Thanks to Mrs Allsopp for organising, Mrs Cowan, Mrs Bradley and our lovely parent volunteers for accompanying, and the Reveley Lodge team for hosting a fantastic morning!

We're sure many of you will remember Ava from her time at Hartsbourne. If you are able to donate to this worthy cause, we know her family will appreciate it.
There is no cure for the condition and it impacts only around 100 people in the UK 💔

Year 5 were lucky enough to be invited down to Bushey Meads this week, to work with Mrs Crespi and some Year 9s on French! They learned how to say the names of different curriculum subjects, how to state their preferences, and finished with a song to embed all of this learning! Thank you very much to Mrs Crespi and the Year 9s for all their help, and to Ms Suji for accompanying the class!

Reception had a lovely trip to Reveley Lodge this week! They explored the gardens, found an enormous sun dial and even planted their own sunflowers! Thank you to Mrs Durrant-Patel, and the staff team, our fabulous parent helpers and all the volunteers at Reveley Lodge for all your help!

It's always a treat when Electric Umbrella come to visit, even if they steal our cameras to take their own selfies!

There have been some monstrous creations in Year 2 this week! The children were very proud to show off their clay monsters this morning, and were able to talk about all of the techniques they used to create them: rolling, pinching, coiling and blending, as well as joining different parts using slip! Well done to all of Year 2 for some great art work, and to our artist-in-residence, Ms Suji!

The Second Annual Bushey Singing Festival was a joyous end to the week! Thank you so much to parents for agreeing to drop the children off at an alternative site, our hard-working staff team for managing the arrangements and to our hosts Little Reddings Primary School, who ran another brilliant event (and let us use your playground!)
