Behind The Sound! Our interactive music tech experience on May 11th was an absolute blast.

We caught up with some of the students who came down to explore the "nerdy" side of music production. The big takeaways? Complete awe at just how much work, sound engineering, and people it takes behind the scenes to make a live show happen.

(And yes, the epic light show synced to the music at the end was definitely the crowd favourite! 🙌🎨)

Check out the highlights and student interviews in this video! 🎥👇

Thank you to everyone who came out, got hands-on with the kit, and geeks out with us.

It is with profound sadness that we learn of the passing of broadcaster, writer, and horticulturist Matthew Biggs VMH yesterday.

The world of gardening has lost an absolute giant.

At ESA Productions, we feel incredibly privileged to have crossed paths with Matt recently. Even while receiving treatment at the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, his immediate instinct was to look outward and help others. He spearheaded the transformation of the Mount Vernon Cancer centre's outdoor space into a beautiful healing garden—a sanctuary brought to life through his vision, the work of Tom Stuart-Smith Studio, Landform Consultants, and the trainees at Sunnyside Rural Trust.

Our students had the honor of producing the mini-documentary “Matt Biggs’s Garden” to capture this incredible team effort.

Matthew leaves behind a legacy that will continue to bloom, both in the landscapes he shaped and the minds he inspired. Rest in peace, Matt. Thank you for showing us the irrepressible power of the human spirit. 🤍

Matt Biggs’s Garden | A Mini-Documentary by ESA Productions 18/05/2026

We are incredibly proud to share the final mini-documentary for "Matt Biggs’s Garden" at the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre. This project, spearheaded by the legendary writer and broadcaster Matthew Biggs—who was recently awarded the prestigious RHS Victoria Medal of Honour (VMH)—has transformed a neglected outdoor space into a vital healing garden for patients, staff, and volunteers.

At ESA Productions, our mission was to capture the "USP" of this project: the collaboration between world-class designers and the trainees from Sunnyside Rural Trust.

This wasn’t just a video; it was a significant learning opportunity for our diverse student crew, a collaborative effort: 16 students across Years 10– Year 14 led the production. The crew included 16% SEND and 11% Pupil Premium students, mirroring the inclusive spirit of the garden itself.

From capturing the vision of landscape architect Tom Stuart-Smith to documenting the construction by Landform Consultants, our students delivered a professional-grade documentary.
