Bird watch 23-25th January 2026, Google it, and find how you can help to preserve our wild birds. We need to see, what may be destroying some of our very different bird types. By counting them each year at a certain time, it gives the RSPB vital information to ways we can help them. Perhaps with habitat protection and growth of wild plants and flowers. Plus information for other countries to use as well.
It takes time and needs as much help as possible, to be of benefit to assisting our lovely birds. It is a caring and fun task.

Our lovely feathered friends, need more support than usual, due to our unpredictable weather.
Rotating bowls of ice free water, for drinking and bathing becomes essential. As does the right rotation of seeds, and nuts on clean, sheltered feeding stations as the gales are difficult to navigate at the moment.
Where do your wild garden birds shelter in extreme weather?

This is the time of the year when birds need help from us. They are our insect catchers, and ant munchers, worm and slug exterminators. @@
More important than that, they are the song makers, joy sharers, mood changers and at times comedians. We cannot live whithout them.
Every country has different types of birds, so Google to find the right type of shelter or housing they need. Check you are leaving out the right type of food, or you might be doing your lovely birds more harm than good.
They need clean water enough to drink, and wash their feathers clean, and safety to preen themselves free from mites.
Look after your wild birds, otherwise we will lose them, leaving us living in a more miserable place.
