Back to Hospitality School 🎓☕️
Yesterday, I stopped at Caffè Nero in Clapham Junction station.
Now… if I’m honest, I’m not the biggest coffee fan of the brand.
But I urgently needed the toilet, and it was the only place available nearby.
So I walked in and asked:
“Do you have a toilet here?”
The barista said: “Yes, we do.”
Immediately, I did what most people are programmed to do in modern hospitality…
I said: “Let me grab a coffee first and pay.”
Because today, service often comes after payment.
Transaction first. Human second.
But then something unexpected happened.
Rajesh — the barista serving me — looked at me and said:
“Don’t worry about paying now. Just take the receipt for the code and go first. You can come back later.”
Simple. Human. Kind.
And in that small moment, something shifted.
He trusted me without questioning me. Without judging me. Without making me “earn” basic kindness first.
That’s hospitality.
Not perfect latte art. Not scripted upselling. Not robotic customer service.
Real hospitality is making people feel seen in the moments that matter.
And because of one small gesture from one person… my perception of the entire brand changed.
This is the part many businesses forget:
People rarely remember the transaction. They remember how you made them feel.
So thank you, Rajesh at Caffè Nero Clapham Junction, for the reminder.
You turned an ordinary moment into meaningful service.
If you’re ever there, look out for this gentleman. Hospitality like this deserves recognition.
Are we still teaching HUMANITY in Hospitality?

Two men. Two photos. Two different times in my life.
One with Andrea. One with my father.
They were both owners. Leaders. People I watched closely, even when I didn’t realise I was learning.
And now, with time and reflection, I finally see the lessons they left me — not in words, but in how they lived.
🟫 1. Take full responsibility
Whatever happened, they showed up.
No excuses. No blame.
They owned their space, their role, their energy.
They led themselves first — and that’s what made them real leaders.
🟫 2. Stand for your values with calm certainty
They were funny, charismatic, and deeply respected.
But I never saw them lose it.
They were composed. Clear.
The only time they got firm was when their values were touched.
That’s when you felt their strength — not in shouting, but in presence.
🟫 3. Your work becomes part of you
When my dad got sick, I came home to run the pizzeria so he could rest.
But even sick, he couldn’t stay away.
Later, Andrea told me:
“When you’ve built something for 30+ years, it becomes part of your soul. You don’t just walk away.”
That stuck with me.
And it’s why I always say to others:
Act like it’s yours.
Put your heart in — because it matters.
Even if it’s not yours yet, it might be one day.
And if not, you’ll still become someone better because of how you showed up.
📸 Thank you Andrea. Thank you Papà.
You taught me more than any book ever could.

I don’t celebrate this day
I celebrate the incredible women in my life every day.
I feel grateful, blessed, and humbled to have my beautiful partner by my side. She is my number one choice, and I constantly say, “Yes, she’s the one.” Her support is invaluable.
I’m also deeply grateful to still have my grandma in my life. Every chat and call with her is a reminder of the gift the universe has given me.
To my aunts—thank you for being part of my journey.
And last but not least, to the woman who carried me for nine months and patiently raised me (trust me, I was not an easy child—just ask my mum for the millions of naughty stories!). She nurtured me, then let me go to follow my own path, believing in me every step of the way.
That is the true gift of life.
Thank you. ❤️ I love you. 🙏🏽

Learning is all around us if we take a moment to observe. In a bustling café, every conversation, expression, and action tells a story. Here are 3 tips to sharpen your skills just by watching:
1️⃣ Observe how people interact to master communication.
2️⃣ Notice how they handle challenges to build emotional intelligence.
3️⃣ Pick up productivity hacks from those working around you.
