🗣️🎓🎵 Is the car test a myth ⁉️Cars are one of the most common places people listen to music, and your brain already knows how good tracks should sound in that space. When your mix does not hold up there, the flaws stand out immediately. Cars also exaggerate problems in the low end, highlight imbalances in the mids, and reveal clashing frequencies that your studio might hide.
But do not make the mistake of chasing the car sound alone. Every car is different ,some boost the bass, others scoop the mids, and sitting off-centre can throw the stereo image. The car test works best as a translation check. Compare your mix against reference tracks in the same car. If both sound strange, it is the car, not your mix. If only your track falls apart, it tells you where the issues are.
The goal is not to perfect your mix for one system. The goal is to make it translate across all of them. Use the car alongside your monitors, headphones, earbuds, and even laptop speakers. Each reveals something new. When your track holds up everywhere, that is when you know the mix is right.

🗣️⁉️ I know you feel me on this one⁉️At 3am everything feels like a masterpiece, but after some sleep it can sound like a disaster. That is not the track getting worse, it is our perception shifting. Ear fatigue dulls your hearing, our brain adapts to what it hears on repeat, and the emotional high of the late night session fades when our morning brain becomes more analytical.
Do not see that as failure, see it as part of the process. Take breaks, check your mix at different volumes and on different speakers, and use reference tracks to reset your ears. Most importantly, rest. The next day is not there to crush you, it is there to give you a second opinion. Learn to work with that and you will stop throwing away tracks that just needed a fresh perspective. 🔉❤️🎵

🗣️🎓 Stacking plugin after plugin on your mix bus won’t make your track sound pro, it often does the opposite. The real power is in restraint. Get the balance right first, then add only what’s truly needed. Mastering your fundamentals will always take you further than chasing endless chains. Less can really be more. 🔉❤️🎵

🎓🎵 That new plugin won’t magically make you a better producer. Most stock plugins can already do more than enough. What actually makes the difference is time, practice, and learning how to push the tools you already have. Stop hiding behind excuses and start squeezing everything out of what’s in front of you. The sooner you accept that, the faster your music will grow. 🙏❤️🫡
