Today, MAAS (Year 1) visited Alice Holt Research Forest .
“Forest Research is internationally renowned for the provision of science, research, evidence, data and services in support of sustainable forestry.”
We explored its distinctive geology, south-east England climate and history, to understand how this ancient woodland supports modern research.
It was inspiring to see and learn about adapting new technology, techniques, and approaches to gathering data.
Huge thanks to the staff at Alice Holt for such informative sessions and to our tutors for organising a great day.

Eternal Sunshine is a series about love, war and gender difference. It extends into a broader critique of postmodern identity. It simulates personalities estranged from nature, becoming, in effect, a recycled or contaminated version of human experience backed by modernity. The series portrays four characters and their role in relation to society, one that becomes obsessed with the pursuit of idealisation and power, a reflection on the paradoxes embedded in contemporary life.

🥚I Am Not the Golden Egg, I Am the Goose That Lays Them 🪿
A varied menu was on offer at The Good Rice during the ‘Goose’ exhibition, organized by final-year students. Alongside new works and performances, the theme of mistakes and failures in the artistic process was explored through a series of workshops. Sessions on rock printing and shibori resist dyeing allowed for gloriously unpredictable results.
