Global volunteering initiative that takes place in October each year.
The Sewa Day project in schools is a week-long initiative with access to ideas & teaching resources for Primary School PSHE & Citizenship classes. The Sewa Day project in schools is a week-long initiative that allows
individual establishments to host assemblies, explain the concepts of
sewa (“selfless service”), use the free classroom resources provided by
Sewa Day and organise activities that enable students to perform an act
of sewa either within the school or in the community.

Schools triumphed at this year's Awards. From performing a Christmas recital at a residential home to regenerating a local skate park, the stories from 2014 captivated the hearts of many. Sewa means selfless service. The action of doing something without expectation of reward.
Have you done sewa for someone? Or have you been on the receiving end of sewa? It can be as simple as making a cup of tea for your elders to collecting clothes for the homeless to planting trees in the park.
