After graduating from Culinary School in 2001, I've avidly pursued my career in baking and pastry arts. I've worked in catering kitchens, local bakeries, and large chain bakeries throughout the US.

I've been away from the cake scene for awhile now--but I'm back in the kitchen today making pastry cream. As I was steeping my milk/cream mixture with a vanilla bean, I swallowed a spoonful of the warm milk and realized something--why don't we every drink vanilla milk? This stuff was so heavenly I'd trade it in for chocolate milk any day!!!

WOW!! this is so cool! Here is a fabulous tip for anyone who creates with gumpaste! How to bring hard, flaky gum paste back to life!!! So simple yet so genius!! My dining room has been taken over! My enormous dining table is covered with little pink boxes, and my stand up freezer is stuffed completely (and I mean completely) full of cupcakes! I am honored to be a part of the Wiesbaden Annual Spouses Event for the 3rd time! I'll be teaching a cupcake decorating class for 60 lucky spouses :) Can't wait!

For my cake friends....I saw this lady giving a demo on her molds. She has a mold to make different shaped eyes, and accessories for people figures. AMAZING work!!!

I'm so lucky! I got to spend the weekend in London specifically for the Cake International convention. Cakers from all over Europe, and a few from other far out parts of the world, came together to compete and demo for the event. I saw some AMAZING cakes, and got to buy lots of goodies. It was a great time!
