The London Medieval Society is a forum for crossdisciplinary and interdisciplinary discussions about the Middle Ages.

The LMS organises three colloquia each year. At the autumn and spring colloquia, speakers deliver short papers in response to a single theme. Recent themes have included Courts and Courtliness, Honour and Reputation, Gift Giving, Blood, and Peace. Biennial London Chaucer Conference 2019 11/01/2019

The deadline for panels and papers for the 2019 Chaucer Biennial Conference, on 'Chaucer and Europe' is fast approaching! Papers can be on any medieval literature and Europe, not just Chaucer, and we also encourage proposals that interrogate or critique the topic, as well as those which directly relate to it.

The Conference will be held over the 13th-15th April, 2018, on the topic of “Sickness, Strife, and Suffering”.
